Question:
Back-up light wire color 2008 Cadillac DTS

I have some information that will help you locate the reverse light wire on your 2008 Cadillac DTS, but GM has been known to use different color wires from time to time for the taillight and backup light circuits. This is because the plant can run out of a particular wire color from time to time and instead of halting production to resupply, a different color wire is used to complete the vehicle.
I did some research and I have found various responses to this question from a blue wire with a green stripe to a light green wire to a dark green wire. Your best option is to access the wires entering the back of the taillight assembly. You may have to remove the trunk liner to access the wires.
Have a trustworthy helper sit in the driver's seat and put the car in reverse with the foot on the brake pedal and e-brake on. Use a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, to test the wires going into the taillight connectors to see which wires have constant power. You will notice two wires with constant power, the brake light wire and the backup wire. Have your helper put the vehicle in park with his foot still on the brake pedal. The wire that no longer has power is the backup light wire.
