Need Help with Curt Class I Hitch # C11066 Installation on 2001 Volkswagon New Beetle

Question:

Having difficulty with the installation instruction for a Curt hitch receiver for a 2001 New Beetle. It isnt lining up correctly per the instructions. Do you have any videos or documentation for this hitch?

We do have an installation video for Curt hitch # C11066 that I have linked for you. This shows the hitch being installed in a 2004 VW Golf, not a New Beetle, but since the frames of the two vehicles are the same you should find some useful help in the video.

Do note that it can happen that in shipment of a hitch rough handling by the carrier can cause a bit of twisting or distortion of the mounting flanges which have the mounting holes. It may be necessary to apply a little force to the hitch to straighten it out if it was indeed bent in transit.

Do note that drilling is required for installation to create the holes for mounting the hitch. All of this is noted in the written instructions which I have linked for you.
