Question:
Hi, Several years ago I bought a draw tite hitch for my Lexus RX 330 and an Allen model 530RR bike rack. I have sold the RX and now have a 2011 Lexus IS 250. Seems like the hitches availble for my IS 250 all have 1.25 inch receivers but my Allen rack is a 2 inch. I hate to have to get a new bike rack. Questions: 1. Is there a hitch I can buy for my IS 250 with a 2 inch receiver? 2. If not, can I get an adapter for a 1.25 receiver to allow it to take a 2 inch rack? 3. If yes to 2 above, can you recommend the proper hitch and the adapter so I can order them? Thanks for your help,

The only hitch we offer for your 2011 Lexus IS 250 Sedan is the Curt Hitch part # C11372 which is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch opening. There is no good way to use a 2 inch bike rack in a 1-1/4 inch hitch. You would have to use an adapter like part # HTAD which would reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent.
2 inch hitches are usually only seen on vehicles with higher capacities like trucks and SUVs.
I know you said you don't want to go with a different bike rack but that really is your best option.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This rack has a ton of positive reviews from our customers who have tried it. Check out the review video I attached for more info.
