Question:

I have a Yakima bike rack and I lost the key. I do not know if it is an SKS system. There are no numbers on the rack or lock except for the date on the dust cap which says 11 2002. This rack has a lock for the hitch and for the last bike on the rack. How can I get a new key?

If you cannot find the key number your best choice is to have a locksmith open the lock for you. I would not recommend trying to drill the lock out, as it is likely the box would be damaged.

Once the lock is unlocked, you can use your control key to remove the lock core. If you no longer have the control key, we offer them as part # Y8007835. The key number will be engraved on the side of the lock core. Once the key number is known, you can order a replacement key.
