Hitch Extension Compatibility with Weight Distribution System
Published 04/09/2015 >
Question:
My truck has a class 4 hitch, camper weighs 3000lbs. Even though it isnt necessary, can I still use my weight distribution hitch with this 18inch extension safely? Im trying to haul my 4wheeler and pull my little 20foot camper without damaging my tailgate.

The only hitch extension we offer that is compatible with weight distribution hitches is the Titan Hitch Box Extension and Reducer # RP45292. This product is designed to fit hitches with a 2-1/2 inch receiver opening and then reduces down to a 2 inch hitch opening. This means you will need a hitch with a 2-1/2 inch opening and a weight distribution system designed for a 2 inch opening. Without knowing what vehicle you have I cannot recommend a hitch, but I did attach a page that has all of the weight distribution systems we offer designed to fit 2 inch hitches.
