Question:

We currently pull an S-10 using a Falcon 2 Towbar. I want to tow a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and am confused as to the best kit to use. I am leaning toward the 1419-8, but am leery about the lack of cross bar. Thanks

Since you have the Falcon 2 Towbar, you can safely use the MX base plate kit, part # 1419-8. The MX style base plates take advantage of the strong frames used for trucks and SUVs. Please note, some accessories are not compatible with the MX style plates like the Guardian Rock Shied or Tow Defender.

The XL base plates, part # 1419-7, will offer the most compatibility with tow bars and tow bar accessories. We typically recommend that customers use the XL style because it can be used with such a wide variety of tow bars and other accessories. It still provides the removable draw bars so as to retain the factory appearance as much as possible.
