Question:

i have a 1996 sandpiper camper 31 feet long two axles I need parts to raise camper high off the ground I keep dragging can u please tell me what I need to fix this. thanks

It is possible to raise a trailer's height for more ground clearance by using an over-under axle kit, like the Dexter kit # K71-385-00 for 3-inch axles that you referenced or their kit # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8-inch round axles. These kits work only for double-eye springs, not for slipper springs. But this also has the unfortunate side-effect of raising the trailer's center of gravity. The higher the center of gravity the more likely the trailer is to sway and roll. Raising a trailer can also make it harder to keep the trailer's frame level with the ground when it is hitched to your truck.

Another option to help with the rear dragging on the ground on hills and tight turns is to install a set of skid wheels on the rear of the trailer. The page that I have linked for you will let you see all the types of skid wheels we offer. These include hitch-mount and frame-mount wheels with either bolt-on or weld-on installation.

For example, if you have a 3-inch hitch tube you can use the bolt-on Ultra-Fab Hitch Mounted Steel Rollers # UF48-979018.
