Trailer Hitch or Roof Mount Cargo Carrier for a 2014 Kia Cadenza

Will the hitch cargo carrier work on a 2014 Kia Cadenza sedan? Im debating installing a trailer hitch vs roof racks. I NEED additional space for an upcoming trip.

The Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - 10 cu ft - 100 lbs # Y62VR is a great carrier, but it will not work for your 2014 Kia Cadenza. The only hitch available for your Kia is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12118. This hitch will only work with accessories for 1-1/4" receivers. The Yakima EXO requires a 2" hitch.
If you install the Curt hitch # C12118 on your Kia, you could use a cargo carrier like the 20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs # 63155. This would allow you to carry up to 300 pounds of cargo.
If you wanted to go with a roof rack we could set you up with a Yakima system with the parts, Y00428, Y28TR, Y27FR, and Y06126. Then you could add a roof cargo box, but you would have to check to see the capacity of your roof.
I like the hitch option because with it you will not have to worry about reaching up to the roof, wind noise, or reduce fuel economy that can come with a roof mount cargo box. If you do go with the roof rack and box be sure to consult the vehicle owner's manual and/or Kia for the roof weight capacity prior to loading.
