I am interested in this hitch for my 2014 Ram 3500 DRW with 8foot bed. I would like to add a tool chest under a retractable tonneau cover but dont know if there is enough room. How much distance remains at the front of the bed after this hitch is mounted? I also understand that the mount levers must rotate forward reducing the available space even more. Can you advise?

If your 2014 Ram 3500 has a factory rail kit, then measure the front puck to the back edge of your bed. It will provide you the approximate distance from B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch # BWRVK3600 to the bed front edge to determine the width of a tool box you can add.
If you don't have a factory rail kit, measure from the centerline of the rear axle (easiest to stand by the rear tire) move forward 1-9/16 inch and then begin measurement to the back edge of the truck bed cab. Then subtract 18 inches (half of the overall 36 inches of the Companion). That will give you the available distance from the back edge of the 5th wheel hitch. The B&W 5th wheel hitch you need is # BWRVK3500-5W and the rail kit is # BWGNRK1314-5W.
