5th Wheel/Gooseneck In-Bed Trailer Wiring for a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:

I have read a few reviews where folks have said they ordered this 5th wheel plug kit and the T connections did not fit their 2006 Ram 2500 because it had 2 stock factory plugs at the rear. 7way and flat 4 Is this fact or bad info. I need a kit to install a plug in my bed for my camper. But dont want to order and have it not connect to my stock trailer wiring harness plugs

Take a look at the back of the trailer connector on your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. If the connecter that plugs into the back of it is square/rectangular then # C56071 will fit. All of the 5th wheel/gooseneck in-bed harnesses have square plugs for this truck. Take a look at the video I have linked showing installation of a similar harness.

If the connector that plugs into the back is round then you would likely need # 54701-007.
