Question:

What tow bar do you recommend to use on my Motorhome to connect to the baseplate #52728-1 for a 2011 Mazda Miata?

As a first step, you'll want to determine if your vehicle is capable of being flat towed. According to information I found in the owner's manual, Mazda doesn't recommend flat towing your vehicle, they recommend trailering the vehicle. I'd recommend you confirm this for yourself by consulting your owner's manual or Mazda Dealer to determine what modifications would need to be preformed to the vehicle in order to flat tow it safely.

If you should determine it wouldn't harm your vehicle to flat tow it, you can use the # 52728-1 base plates you've mentioned. For a towbar, I'd recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2, part # RM-520. The towbar uses Roadmaster's autowlock system, which makes connecting the tow bar to the vehicle very easy. The arms of the towbar can extend, so the car doesn't need to be perfectly centered behind the vehicle. As you pull off, the towbar will self-center and lock into place.

You'll also need safety cables, part # RM-643 and a lighting system like # RM-2120. A magnetic mount system like the # RM-2120 has the advantage of being quick and easy to install, and it won't require cutting or splicing into the existing wiring of the Miata.

Finally, you'll need a supplemental braking system like the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251.
