Width of a Thule TracRac Side-Mount Truck Bed Ladder Rack

Question:
Im looking at the Thule side mount ladder rack and Im wondering how wide the rack is at the top. I need 18inch of clearance.

I went and pulled a Thule TracRac Side-Mount Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH14750 from our warehouse to measure the adjustable portion of it that will overhang your truck bed and found that when fully extended it will stick out 37", and when fully retracted it will be 22" so you'll have at least that 18" clearance you're needing.
