Constant Power on 4-Way After Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2013 Nissan Juke

Question:
I have a 2013 Nissan Juke Nismo AWD. I finally finished installing my wiring harness, but when I turn on the car and plug in a flat 4 wire tester which provides accurate results on another vehicle the left turn signal and tail light indicators are on constantly. The right turn signal works correctly. I checked the ground on both ends and the positive power wire is firmly connected on both ends as well. The harness connectors are all clicked in and appear to be correctly installed. What would cause this behavior? What else can I check?. Thanks

It might be the tester. If the tester uses LED lights and it is a powered harness there can be some bleed off from the harness. This is normal and since LED lights require such little power draw they would light up a little.
If you are using Curt wiring harness # C56124 on your 2013 Nissan Juke, it doesn't have a power wire. Green is right turn, yellow is left turn, brown is running lights, red is brake lights, and white is ground.
Constant power usually indicates a short. Check the vehicle and harness connectors for any bent or broken pins, dirt, or corrosion. A bent pin might be able to be carefully put back in place. A broken one would mean replacement of the affected harness.
The white ground wire should be attached to a clean and corrosion free, non-painted or coated metal surface, preferably by itself and not grounded with other electrical components.
If you still have a problem after that then use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wires going into the converter box from the vehicle. They should only have power when the appropriate circuit is active on the vehicle. If the input wires show constant power into the harness, then there is some issue with the vehicle wiring.
If the input wires are all correct but the output wires still show constant power, then there is something wrong with the harness/converter box and it will need to be replaced. If you are using harness # 118528 the testing procedures will all be the same. It does have a power wire and a short inside the box could cause the problem you are experiencing.
