Question:
I have a Yakima bike carrier that I lost the key to. How do I tell what replacement key to order? I see their are several different mode numbers.

If your existing locks have a working key, the key number should be stamped into the key, and the necessary key number will be stamped or engraved on the side of the lock, as shown in the photo I provided.
To order a replacement key, you'd order part # Y8772-AXXX, you'd replace the x's with the 3 digit number on your lock cylinders. For example, if your locks have number A153 on them, you'd order key # Y8772-A153.
If you do not know the key number, your best alternative is to have a locksmith open the lock for you. I do not recommend trying to drill the lock out, as it is highly likely that the box would be damaged.
Once the lock is unlocked, you can use your control key to remove the lock core. If you no longer have the control key, we offer them as part # Y8007835.
