Hello, I have 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Cab. I am looking at the different tailgate pads and it seems like none really stand out much over the others. Considering the Thule or the Softride so far or any others you might recommend. There is reference to the Thule having soft underside that contacts the truck body, does the Softride have soft underside as well? Looks like the Softride keep bikes from banging together with the tie down straps and the Thule has the edge blocks to keep them from drifting off the edge. Has there been a preference from staff or customer feedback on the tailgate pads? mostly for mountain bikes, occasionally for road bikes Thanks

Personally I like the Softride Shuttle Pad # SR26457 more than the Thule Gate Mate part # TH824PRO because it has the loops that allow a bike to easily be secured to the pad.

Thule doesn't have the straps to secure the bikes to the pad, and most likely they wouldn't be necessary. But for added peace of mind I prefer the Softride.
