Question:
Is there any benefit to be realized by getting longer crossbars for the roof rack? I think I may have asked this question before, but I cannot remember and cannot find a response, so Ill ask again. The rack I want calls for 66inch crossbars. Im curious is theres anything gained by going to the longer lengths, such that maybe an Aero Raptor could straddle the tower and leave more room between the towers for a large Skybox? Id like to get 2 Aero Raptors and the big Skybox up there. Thanks for your input and time.

The benefit to going with a longer crossbar on a roof rack is that you get more room for roof mounted accessories. The longer crossbars can sometimes mean that you will need to watch your head getting into and out of your vehicle though. Also, you don't want the bars extending beyond the mirrors.
The recommended Yakima Roof Rack for your 2012 Ford E-350 consists of 66 inch crossbars # Y00410 and Gutter Feet part # Y00101. For 78 inch crossbars to use instead you would want the # Y00411.
The Yakima Aero Raptor Y02093 is 9 inches wide and the largest Skybox is the 21 part # Y07337 which is 36 inches wide.
Either crossbar length should fit the setup you are interested in.
