Tow Bar Adapter Recommendation for a 2011 Ford Escape

Question:

The BX4330 is suggested to be used with a baseplate with a tab width of 23” or greater up to 28”. Since the BX2605 only has a tab width of 22” that is we do not suggest using the Acclaim tow bar with this baseplate. Would Etrailer have suggestion, I need to buy a base plate 2011 Ford Escape. is there an adapter for the BX2605 or another brand of base plate I dont want to buy both base plate and another tow bar at the same time.

The Blue Ox Acclaim tow bar # BX4330 will need the Blue Ox base plate adapter # BX88178 which will provide 24-inches of spacing between brackets. So you wouldn't need to purchase another tow bar.

A few things you will also need are a supplemental braking system like the Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400 and safety cables such as # RM-643 that will provide you the extra security for your tow bar system # BX4330. They will also have a 6,000 pound capacity. If you prefer a 10,000 pound capacity, I recommend the Blue Ox safety cables # BX88197.

The magnetic mount tow light kit # C-ATL20A is a great option because it's very easy to hookup and remove when needed. I recommend a fuse bypass # RM76511 as it replaces your vehicle's mini-fuse and lets you prep for towing by simply flipping a switch.

Before you equip your vehicle, check your owner's manual or call your dealer for specific towing information on your vehicle. Some vehicles require modifications such as a drive line disconnect, transmission lube pump, freewheeling hubs or axle disconnects.
