Question:
I am interested in your trailer hitch that fits a 2003 Ford Focus ZX5. Some of your literature refers to not fitting the ZX5 SVT version. What does the SVT mean. I am wondering how I figure out if my car is an SVT. All I know about it is that it is a 2003 Ford Focus ZX5.

The SVT models of the 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 will have a different fascia design called a street appearance package. There should be SVT badged on the back somewhere and possibly right on top of the motor. It is also possible that you will see a P30 in the VIN number in positions 5,6, and 7. The definitive way to know for sure is to have a Ford dealer run the VIN through their computer system.
If you do not have an SVT model then you can use trailer hitch # 24692. I have linked a video showing installation for you. If you wanted to do some towing the correct ball mount is # 3593. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 18252.
If you planned on using the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I hitch. And for a bike rack you are limited to 2 bikes on a Class I hitch.
