Troubleshooting Outer Tire Wear on a Trailer Tire

Question:
At 5000 kilometers my left side tire trailer tire single Axle showed excessive outter edge wear.What is the toe in spec. for your 3500 lb , axle?

You will want to check the inside of the tire and if there is wear also on the inside it will be from low tire pressure. Always make sure to inflate trailer tires to the maximum psi rating listed on the tire for maximum load carrying capacity and longer life.
If the wear is just on the outside then the tire is riding at a slight angle with the bottom pointed more in toward the trailer than the top.
You will need to check the suspension components, axles, spindles, to make sure nothing is loose, bent, or damaged. You will also want to make sure the wheel is not bent. If all of that checks out you will need to take your trailer to an alignment shop to have the alignment fixed.
