Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this replacement front wheel holder assembly for the Thule ProRide and the Thule Pro Ride XT roof bike racks. Now this part here will replace the front wheel holder assembly on the Thule ProRide or Thule ProRide XT roof bike rack. The ProRide part number is 598001 and the ProRide XT part number is 598004. Both of those bike racks, we do sell separate on a website. This part here is what we'll install on the rail of the bike rack and holds the front wheel in place.
It does use the quick release ratchet strap to secure the front wheel to the rack. So basically if you just push that down, it releases it, and then to install it, just put it in there, push it, pull it as tight as could be. If you notice, it does use a diagonal strap design and that's to help create maximum surface contact with the wheels for improved stability. Again, to release it just push down on it, it releases. Install it, just push it in there, push it until it gets tight.

No surprise, it's a perfect fit. When the last one snapped off after a tragic encounter with a parking garage, I thought I might need to buy a whole new bike rack.
