Hello neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our boat trailer winch with an included 23 foot long strap and a 9 and 7/8 inch long handle rated at 1000 pounds. So folks, this ratcheting hand winch will let you and help you load your boat onto your trailer and also unload your boat off of the trailer so it doesn't float away and whatnot. So obviously if you're familiar with winches, very simple. You move the lever here forward or back depending on if you want to unwind. And you also have a free spool mode there kind in the center.

Once you get the spring in the right location, it'll kind of sit there and you can free spool out or free spool back in. More likely than not your cranking back in though and it's very simple. You get a nice two inch wide by 23 foot long strap with a nice spring loaded hook retainer here on the hook. The handle again is 9 and 7/8 inches long overall. This little ergonomic handle hard plastic piece here is three and a half inches long sticking out there.

And as far as the base, let's get some quick dimensions on the base here. So overall I got about 5 3/8 inches long and on the width I got 3 1/2. Now I thing to point out when you're mounting winches, all three of these mine holes are usually oblong like you see there. That's gonna help you have the mobility to, you know, go side to side or up and down on your particular trailer application to be able to mount that. Now the handle's a pretty simple install.

When you get it, it's gonna come pretty much like this. You'll take off that retaining nut, this little retainer, and as you can see there's like a groove all the way down this screw here. So you'll just line up that shape with the handle and then you'll put the retainer this way, that way those two ears can go over the sides and then you would tighten this nut down. Now I'm not gonna tighten that because it is a locking washer. So pretty much made for a one time tighten it down and don't take it back off kind of deal.

So I'm gonna put that back on there loosely here. And again folks, it's a solid one piece gear that's gonna give you the durability you need on the winch. It has a nice rust resistant zinc coating and a forward safety hook that has that same coating on there. And it's gonna be a great addition to any boat if you need to replace your winch or add one.
