The Curt hitch receiver fit my 1994 Isuzu Trooper perfectly. Installing it by myself was a bit more cumbersome but using a hydraulic jack on each end helped with the positioning. At first it seems as if it's too narrow but a slight outward leverage at the mounting flanges allows it to slip on. The rear bumper mounting bracket stays in place and the hitch receiver slips over it. The receiver is well made, strong and nicely painted. The mounting bolts are included with the receiver.

Great hitch receiver that fit perfectly. Installed in less than 30 minutes. I appreciate the information updates regarding shipping status and delivery. I saved over $50 by purchasing from etrailer.com instead of my local auto parts store.
Very good product. As soon as the hitch arrived I went to a friend that has a machine shop just in case anything needed adjusting. We had to spread the side brackets slightly using a porta power and enlarge the bolt holes in those brackets for easier alignment. All this took 15 min tops and fits perfectly.

I had to push the hitch apart with a jack, because it wasn’t pushed out enough. After that it was an easy install. I use it all the time for my bike rack. Looks nice and looks tasteful on my suv. Hasn’t chipped or anything. Also used it for a basket in the desert. Awesome product. Why pay the dealer $500 bucks. Do it yourself.
Unfortunately the hitch will not quite fit my vehicle. Possibly the skid plates? ?????

Curt Manufacturing doesnt have any information indicating that the 2nd generation Trooper was ever factory equipped with a rear skid plate. If the plate is a dealer-installed or aftermarket installed part, then it would need to be removed in order to install the hitch. Many Troopers were installed with a front skid plate however, which could explain the difficulty youre having. This hitch is meant to be installed on the rear of the vehicle, not as a front mounted receiver.
This is my 2nd Trailer hitch from etrailer. Everything worked out easy peasy. The item was exactly as shown and the wiring harness connected easily, exactly as shown on the site.
Hitch fit perfectly. Wiring harness adapter was perfect match. Install was less than 1 hour. Thanks Etrailer!

I ordered the tow hitch for my 01 Isuzu trooper . The package was delivered quick and safe , and the hitch matched my truck perfectly . Also the quality was excellent with nice welds and great paint job . I'm happy !
The product was as good as specified, but we had a minor problem getting it attached. However, my younger (and much more talented brother) rectified the glitch, got it hooked up, and it looks GREAT. The best part, the items and installation saved me over $200 compared to a quote from an RV dealer in town.
Great trailer hitch Perfect fit for my 98 Trooper easy to install
It looked really sturdy, and it fit on the vehicle with a little bit of persuasion. The two ears that bolt onto the vehicle were actually bowed in a little bit enough to where I needed to open up at least another 2 inches to 2 1/2 inches but other than that it worked just as designed.

I. Have been constantly using my hitch for a year with no problems. It continues to work perfectly.
