I'll admit, the price was a big factor.....you get what you pay for. Two of the four holes to mount the winch were off by more than an inch, so i had to drill new ones. The wiring harness was no better. The quick disconnect had intermittent electrical connectivity....had to modify it. Manufacturer was little help, they offered to drill the holes but that required shipping the mount 3500 miles at my expense. They made no offer to compensate me. They did mail a new quick disconnect. The mount works well but i had to work for it as well as pay for it!

This worked out good as I used it for the Truck and can move it to my Bob Cat / Car Trailer , I fabled up receivers and move it from one to the other in just a few minutes very handy Then I just store it in the garage, we mounted everything on brackets and made a plate to mount onto it as well so all in one .

by:

Great so far haven’t used this package was packed well

by:

Great design to move from trailer to trailer...............well built piece of equipment.

by:

This makes the winch more useful for me as I can switch the vehicle it’s mounted on.

by:

Very heavy duty, well built!!!

by:

The bracket looks nice and well built the only unfortunate thing is the box arrived torn up and some hardware missing looked as if it were a return that had been sent back and uninspected and left in disarray hard time feeling warm and fuzzy about it since it was supposed to be new

WHY DO COMPANIES SHIP HEAVY ITEMS IN ORIGINAL BOXES THAT WEIGH 25PLUS POUNDS ? THEY SHIP TO YOU ON A PALLET . DO YOU PEOPLE EVER SHIP ONE OF YOUR HEAVY ITEMS TO YOUR SELVES TO SEE HOW THEY ARRIVE ?????

by:

Well made, strong, I really like that it's a one piece unit and that's why I spent the extra money..
There were other models much cheaper that are bolt together which I don't recommend...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Mounted 12k Winch And Wiring Kit For A 2005 Ford F-250
Hi Steven, To start you'll need a mount for the winch that's rated for 12k like the Bulldog # BDW20011 and then you can use a 12k winch like the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW10039. This comes with a wireless remote that uses batteries or can be plugged in to operate the winch. You wouldn't be able to run the winch off of just 12 gauge wire, you would need 2 gauge wire and Andersen connectors like the Bulldog Winch Rear Wiring Kit # BDW20206 has. I've attached a short video below...

  • Can The BDW10040 Bulldog Winch Be Used On The Front Of A Vehicle As A Recover Winch?
Hi Butch! The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch - Wireless Remote - Synthetic Rope - Hawse Fairlead - 12,000 lbs # BDW10040 can indeed be used on the front of a vehicle for recovery purposes. Something like the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate # BDW20011 can be installed in a front receiver hitch, but mounting on a permanent plate or bumper would also be perfectly fine. What vehicle are you thinking about installing this on?

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 1964 Chevy C/K 20 4x4 and 2001 Ford F-350 Front Hitch
Although the Draw-Tite # 40050 is only for 1964 Chevy C/K 8 foot bed 2WD as you stated, there are other options available for your 4x4 truck. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # 13028 which is a fit for your truck if you have a standard bumper. If you have a deep drop bumper, then I recommend the # C15511. All of these hitch receivers are compatible with the Gen-Y Iron Grip Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin for 2" Hitch Receivers - 5/8" Diameter, Item...

  • Front Hitch And Winch Mount For A 2023 Toyota 4Runner Premium
Hello Joe. Yes, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch # C31076 will be a good fit for your 2023 Toyota 4Runner Premium. For a winch mount, take a look at the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate # BDW20011. This will mount directly into the 2" receiver, and it will work with the Bulldog winches such as the Bulldog Winch Standard Series Off-Road Winch # BDW10042.

  • Winch Mount for Terra 45 for Easier Install/Removal from Vehicle Hitch
For your application a winch mount like the Bulldog part # BDW20011 would be what I would recommend. This is compatible with the Terra 45 winch and since it has large handles on either side will make for an easier to installing and removing from your hitch as needed.

  • Looking For Winch Mount For 2003 Ford F350 4x4
Hello David, thanks for reaching out. I do have a solution for you, but there are no custom winch mounts available for the 2003 F350. The only way I'm aware of to mount a winch to your 2003 Ford F350 is to install a front hitch like the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65022. This will allow you to use a hitch mounted winch tray like the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate with Handles part # BDW20011. Then you can mount a winch like the Bulldog # BDW10039.

  • Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter be Used with a Winch
I do have a solution for you but when I reached out to my contact at Roadmaster they did not recommend using the Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-6 with a winch. Instead what I recommend using is a Gen-Y Hitch. We have part # 325-GH-313 which has a 5" rise/drop and part # 325-GH-314 which has a 7-1/2" rise/drop which you can use. These are much more heavy-duty than the adapters used for flat towing so you can definitely use it with your winch on a mounting bracket like part # BDW20011...

  • Recommended Portable 10K Winch For Loading Equipment on a Tilt Trailer
I recommend using a Winch # SW39GR with the Hitch Mount # BDW20011. This way you only need a 2" receiver which is typically already on the rear of most trucks and are available for the front. For your tilt trailer you can weld on a Receiver # 337RT25806B where it works best to hold the winch. And we also have a Storage Mount # BDW20154 so you can place it in an easily dedicated area. The Winch # SW39GR does offer a wired or wireless remote. This is great as if you had an issue with the...

  • How To Choose Correct Size Wire for 12K Winch on Rear of Vehicle
In order to find the correct size wire for a winch you'll need to know the amp rating. The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch part # BDW10040 for example which has a 12,000 lb capacity and can pull anywhere from 65 - 400 amps depending on the load. It would take a very large wire to handle this much power over a distance from the front of the vehicle to the rear and that is not something we offer unfortunately. If you were only pulling out small loads then you could get away with the Bulldog Winch...

  • Solution for Easily Removable Winch for Car Hauler
Using a hitch opening like the Bulldog # BDW20154 like you referenced would be a great place to start. You'll mount this in the bed of your car hauler so that you can use a hitch mounted winch carrier like the # BDW20011 which will allow you easily remove the winch when not in use. For a winch a 4,500 lb ATV winch like the # SW1145220 would work great. It's a little smaller but has the needed capacity.

  • Solution for Mounting Winch in Enclosed Trailer for Pulling Vehicle In
You can mount a winch to a trailer to allow it to pull things up onto the trailer. This is pretty common for car haulers. You could purchase a Hitch Receiver tube and have it welded to the the trailer frame or crossmember near the front like part # E-9. With a piece like this welded to the frame, you could use the Winch Plate # BDW20011 mount to attach your winch. You'll need to pull up a portion of the floor to access where you'll attach it. Maybe locate the anchor point from underneath...

  • Can The Badlands Apex Winch Be Used With The Westin HDX Winch Mount Grille Guard
We do not have a list that will list the brands of winches that will fit the Westin HDX Winch Mount Grille Guard # 57-92375, however, this grille guard has maximum winch dimensions of 10-1/2" tall, and 4-1/2" deep. I did some research and it appears the Badlands Apex winch you mention, measures 10-1/8" tall, and 6-5/16" deep, meaning it will not fit into this winch tray. Unfortunately, we do not have a grille guard with a winch tray that will fit the Badlands Apex. We do have the Bulldog...

  • Recommended 12k Winch And Mounting Plate For A Trailer Hitch Receiver
For a 12k winch I recommend the Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW10039. Bulldog is a well-known name in the winch community and this specific model comes with a wireless remote that you can use to easily activate the winch from anywhere within a 100' radius. To get this winch mounted to your trailer hitch you'll need the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate # BDW20011 and a reducer. You should have at most a 3" receiver tube opening so I recommend double checking the opening...

  • Winch Mounting Plate for 2 Hitch Receiver to Fit Warn M12000 Winch
From what I was able to find, the Warn M12000 winch is 24.37" L. x 8.45" D. x 11" H. I've attached a picture with the dimensions on the Bulldog Winch Hitch Mounted Winch Plate # BDW20011 but since the mounting cradle is only 8-5/16" wide (8.31") your Warn winch is going to be just a bit too large for this cradle. Since Warn winches are traditionally a bit larger than Bulldogs, I'd recommend using a winch plate like the Curt Electric Winch Mount Plate # C31010. This is also a hitch mounted...

For your 2022 Ram 2500 I recommend the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # C31089. This hitch has a 9,000lb Line Pull capacity, 500lb Vertical load capacity, and a Gross trailer weight capacity of 5,000lbs. The receiver tube is the only visible portion of this trailer hitch for a sleek hidden design. • Hitch Mounted Winch Mounting Plate For Bulldog BDW66FR Trailer Winch
What you're needing is a receiver winch mount like part # BDW20011. The mount will work in a 2-inch receiver on the rear or front of a vehicle. If the mounting plate of the Bulldog # BDW66FR winch is removed, the 6-1/2 x 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern of the winch will perfectly match that of the # BDW20011 mount. The mount has holes that would be compatible with the 10 inch center to center bolt pattern for the winch fairlead. The mount has 10-1/2 inch center to center fairlead bolt hole spacing,...

  • Utility Trailer Winch Mounting Options
You would not be able to mount a winch to a wood bed if you are going to put any kind of load on it. You would need to get the winch mounted to the steel frame somehow. To do this you can use U bolts to attach through the wood bed to the trailer frame, if there is steel frame below the bed. Otherwise, you will want to fabricate a mounting location for your trailer. Since you were looking at the Bulldog Trailer Hitch Winch Plate, part # BDW20011, you could purchase a Hitch Receiver tube...
