Inno Surf/SUP/Kayak/Canoe Locker dimensions

Inno Surf/SUP/Kayak/Canoe Locker

This locking carrier lets you safely and securely transport 1 kayak or canoe, 2 stand-up paddleboards, or 2-3 surfboards on your vehicle's roof rack. The carrier is easy to load and use with integrated straps and ratcheting hand knobs. Adjustable pads protect your boat or boards during transport. And the carrier installs in your crossbar T-slots with included hardware.

Easy-to-Load System

Inno Board Locker release straps

The carrier is easy to use and easy to load. There are 2 long straps that stretch over your cargo and secure to 2 short straps. The straps are tightened in place with ratcheting knobs. When transporting a kayak or canoe, load the boat onto your crossbars first. Then connect the straps over the boat - securing the wire looms on the ends of the short straps to the hooks on the ends of the long straps - and tighten them with the hand knobs.

Inno Board Locker load

When transporting surfboards or SUPs, connect the straps first. Slide your board onto your crossbars under the connected straps, then tighten down the straps with the ratcheting knobs.

Inno Board Locker release

When it's time to remove your cargo, lift the tension release levers under the covers to loosen the straps and unhook them.

Protective Padding

Inno Board Locker load

Rubber coating on the straps and adjustable corner pads help to protect your boat and boards from scratches and scuffs during transport. For additional protection, board pads (sold separately) can be added to your crossbars to provide a cushion for your cargo.

Simple Installation

Inno Surf/SUP/Kayak/Canoe Locker install

You can install the carrier quickly and easily into the T-slots - or channels - in the tops of your crossbars on with the included hardware. To install the carrier you must first remove your crossbars' endcaps and the rubber strips in the T-slots. Insert square bolts into the T-slots where you want to mount the carrier. Slide the carrier over the bolts and secure it to your crossbars with washers, long nuts, and a hex wrench.

Locking Covers

Inno Surf/SUP/Kayak/Canoe Locker on lock

Four locking covers secure your boat or boards to the carrier and the carrier to your crossbars. With the covers locked and closed the ratcheting knobs cannot be turned and the tension-release levers cannot be accessed to loosen the straps. The locked covers also deny access to the mounting hardware so the carrier cannot be removed from your crossbars.

Video Transcript for Inno Roof Mounted Water Craft Carrier Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Inno Paddle board Surfboard Kayak Canoe locker, part number INXA445. This Inno locker will allow us to hold up to 1 kayak, 1 canoe, 2 wind surfboards, 3 shortboards, 2 longboards, or 2 stand up paddle boards on the roof of our vehicle. It simply mounts to our t-slot on our roof rack here. It's going to be compatible with any roof rack system that has t channel. It features stainless steel rubber coated ratcheting cables, which hold our watercraft in place, and it tightens down using these ratcheting knobs. Another great feature is the crane cover here. After I release the tension on our cable here, this is what hold our cable in an arched position, making it easier to load up our watercraft.

The cables feature an adjustable pad for additional security and protection. Now finally I'd like to point out our lock and cover. With this down and in the locked position, it's going to prevent our ratcheting knobs from moving, as well as prevent access to our tension release lever and our t-bolt. Now that we've gone over some of the features, I'll go ahead and show you how to install it. First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to go ahead and grab the locker, and I'm going to disconnect it here with the quick disconnect. Then I'm going to come over here, and I'm going to pull up on my cap.

I want to make sure that it's unlocked, which it is. I just want to quickly point out that this is one of the holes that we'll be using that one of our t-bolts is going to be through after we've got it slid onto our t-slot on our roof rack. I pointed that one out. Our next one will be underneath this cap. We'll need to open this up, and that's where our other one is going to go. For right now, let's just grab our t-bolts, let's take the nuts off, and the lap washer, and we'll move on over to our roof rack.

Now as you can see, I've already got one of my lockers installed and in place, slid onto the t-slots, so we're going to do the same thing over here. First of all, we need to remove the end cap, set that to the side. Then we'll take one of our t-bolts, having the t upside down like this, push down on the weather stripping here, and we're just going to slide that on, just like that. We'll slide it all the way down as far as we can reach. Then we'll take another one and slide that on, just about right there. Now I'm going to grab a portion of my locker, as well as a washer and my nut, and then I'm going to set it down onto the t-bolt.

You notice that I have the locking end of the end cap pointing this direction, that way it's easy accessible from this side. We'll put the lock washer on first, followed by the nut. We'll just hand tighten that down. I'm going to slide it my way just a little bit, and keep in mind you'll still want to have enough room to put your end cap back on your roof rack here. Now we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on this side. We want to make sure that our strap is facing the lock over here, just like this. Then we're going to place it over our t-bolt, followed by the locking washer and the nut. Now the nice thing about this is that we can place it anywhere on our key channel here, because it's completely adjustable. We've got our other one positioned about right here. Let's go ahead and do the same thing over here, that way we know it's nice and even. Then I'm going to tighten that down. Once we get this one tight, we'll go ahead and tighten down the locking side. That feels pretty good, we'll go ahead and close up our end cap. Now over here like I said before, we'll just need to make sure that we can still put our end cap back on, which we can. We'll get that out of the way. We'll make sure that these are lined up, and then we'll just go ahead and tighten that down. Now we can connect our cable, and then we'll load up a kayak. Now before we grab our kayak we'll just need to make sure that we have enough slack on our straps here, so we'll come back here to our tension release, pull that back, and just pull it out a little bit. As you can see, the crane's doing its job by holding the strap up in place, so it makes it nice and easy. Let's go ahead and do that same thing over here. That seems pretty good, let's grab that kayak. I just want to make a quick note that you can load your kayak upside down or right side up It just depends on the shape of your kayak, because it may interfere with the straps. Paddle boards and surfboards should be loaded with the fin facing up. Now we can go ahead and tighten down our straps. We'll come down here to our ratcheting knobs, start turning them. We can also adjust our pad, depending on our application. I'm going to set mine right about there. Continue tightening that down, get it nice and secure. We'll do that over here, too. Once we've got those nice and tight, we can go ahead and close up our caps. We'll want to grab the keys and lock those up. Now keep in mind if you're loading up anything longer than 13 feet, you will need to use bow and stern tie-downs. Our kayak here today is only about 11 feet, so we're ready to hit the road. Now with our kayak all loaded up, let's take it on our test course and see how it performed. Let's first go into our slolem. This is going to show us side to side action, such as going around corners or evasive maneuvering. Then onto our alternating speed bumps. This is going to show a twisting action, such as going over potholes or uneven pavement. Then finally onto our solid speed bumps. This is going to show an up and down action, such as pulling in and out of a driveway, or out of a parking garage. That's going to complete our look at the Inno Stand-up Paddle board Surfboard Kayak Canoe Locker, part number INXA445. .

Most aftermarket roof racks are meant to remain in place once installed. The feet and crossbars can be removed once installed but not the tracks. On the linked page you can see all standard aftermarket roof racks (that do not require drilling) that will fit your 2015 Ram 2500 crew cab. These include racks...
