Features to know about

Transport Long Loads with Ease: Versatile Load Extender

When you have a truck, SUV, or UTV with a 2" hitch receiver, hauling long items like kayaks, ladders, or lumber doesn't have to be a challenge. This load extender provides critical extra support, extending past your vehicle's bed or roof to keep your cargo secure during transit. With an adjustable width from 28" to 48" and height from 15-3/4" to 57", it caters to different haul sizes and configurations, whether you're using it as a bed extender or a roof extender. No more worrying about cumbersome loads!

Quick Set-Up for More Adventure Time: Snapper Pins & Reflective Tape

Get ready for quick and easy set-ups with four quick-release snapper pins that make configuration adjustments a breeze. This robust construction not only saves time on assembly but also ensures your load is ready for safer transport faster, letting you focus more on the adventure ahead. Reflective tape enhances visibility, providing an additional safety layer during nighttime or low-light conditions.

Sturdy Construction Against the Elements: Durable Steel and Powder Coat Finish

Built to withstand the elements and demanding use, the load extender features a durable steel construction complemented by a black powder coat finish. This combination offers impressive resistance to corrosion, ensuring your essential tool remains reliable for years of hard use, whether you’re carrying construction materials or outdoor gear.

Flexibility That Suits Your Needs: Adjustable Height and Width

Adaptability is pivotal when carrying varied load types. The Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender can be customized to accompany different cargo sizes, thanks to its adjustable height and width. Whether you're set on the extended height for roofing needs or broader width for wide cargo, it's your go-to solution for making load management simple and effective, catering directly to your hauling needs.

Free Up Space for Multifaceted Use: Innovative Load Management

By positioning the load away from your vehicle’s bed or roof, this extender frees up room for additional cargo. It allows for a high-mount load bar configuration, making it suitable for multiple uses from transporting ultra-long ladders to creating space in your bed or cargo area for other necessities. Perfect for when your vehicle needs to carry more than people.

Convenience in Every Configuration: Portability and Workspace Efficiency

Arms that fold back add an extra layer of support, doubling up as a mobile workspace when necessary. Coupled with its usage as a portable support, this feature gives you flexibility not only in how you haul but also in how you work, meeting both your transportation and practical everyday needs.

My truck bed is only 5’ long so it is a bit difficult for 16’ material but for the rest, it works great
Thanks..

by:

This extender is just what I needed to haul my 16' paddle jon boat.
I would suggest supplying bolts with flat heads for holding the upright and cross piece together. The bolts supplied will mar lumber or gouge drywall sheets. Thankfully the heads fit between the runners on the bottom of my boat. Otherwise they would eventually wear through the aluminum.
Glad I bought it and would highly recommend it.

I love it. Works great for hauling my 16 paddle jon boat. Easy to put together, install, and uninstall.

by:

Thick square tubing. Good welds. Easy to assemble. Not a lot of “wobble” when mated with receiver hitch. Extends two feet beyond lowered tailgate, which gives me 10 feet of usable bed length. Will be using to haul 16 foot canoe to the lake this summer.

by:

Very happy with the MaxxTow MaxxHaul truck bed extender. Quality and workmanship is very good, everything went together easily right out of the box without any need for me to make adjustments. I have a Honda Ridgeline which has a short bed with storage under the bed. This extender is perfect for my situation because it makes the bed more useful and the hitch breaks down into smaller pieces making it easy to store when not in use. That is one of the main reasons I bought this specific extender. Fits easily into my trunk space so its always handy. My only regret is I waited so long to purchase, I could have used it many times already.

by:

Works great for my canoe with a few additions. I have a shortbed truck and even with the tailgate down and the canoe in diagonally, there is still too much overhang to keep the canoe situation as securely as I’d like. So I took a chance and bought the MaxxTow truck bed extender and have been very pleased.

I like how versatile it is. I can use it with roof rack on another vehicle or with my truck. All in in all it seems solidly built. It went together so easy didn’t need to refer to the instructions but I did anyway just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
Tossed in the canoe and went to the lake. Spent a few hours and came home after dark. Since my canoe sticks a few feet back of the extender, I had tied a flag on it. Flag helps in the daytime but not much good at night but it does have the nice reflective stickers to help out.

To help out at night (and during the day) I bought a set of magnetic trailer lights and put on it. They make a huge difference for the visibility both day and night. I also went to a home improvement store and bought some pipe insulation and wrapped around the crossbars and vertical bars that the canoe will contact. All in all, including the extender, lights and insulation I have less than $100 in it all. Incredible bang for the buck.

by:

Two kayaks, two bicycles, and a loaded truck going from Arizona to Colorado. The extender worked great with double hitch adapter for bike rack and extender. Still need to ratchet and tie everything down to control play in units.

by:

Quality, fit, finish and packaging were excellent. Shipping rates and service were fantastic. Communication has been very good. I cannot offer any reasonable suggestions for improvement. I definitely recommend this company!

Thanks for a decal - now installed. Photo is of your bed extender with a 2018 Honda Ridgeline and Hobie tandem Eclipse kayak. That is a long kayak and the extender works great.

by:

Product is exactly as described. Assembly was super easy. My application is construction materials and canoe hauling. I loaded my canoe by myself easily into the bed of my f150; tie-down was easy and the width and height adjustments worked fine.

great, stands up to all the things a farmer can throw at it.

by:

The extender worked great on my Chevy Colorado with a 5' bed. It was simple to assemble and has a rugged & adjustable design. It worked perfect to transport my two kayaks and camping gear. One kayak is 12 feet long and the other is 9.5 feet long. My 12' kayak rested on the cross bar with a 2-3 foot overhang.....perfect. I then strap it down to the cross bars. My 9.5' kayak gets pressed and strapped up against one of the upright bars of the extender, so no way is this 9.5' kayak moving back. This hitch makes loading and unloading the kayaks much easier than a 'over the cab' kayak carriers that mount the kayaks about 7 feet off the ground. This hitch extender puts the kayaks at chest height for me now which is much easier.

by:

Just what I was looking for to improve the kayak hauling experience with the short Ridgeline bed, and less bulky to store than some alternatives. Also my upcoming lumber projects. The assembly was straightforward and the rack seems durable.

by:

Was looking for an affordable bed extender to add kayak racks to. It allows me to easily load and unload two 12' kayaks from my short bed Toyota Tacoma. This rack does the job perfectly! etrailer is great to work with.

by:

This is a fantastic tool for transporting my kayaks to/from paddling locations. I lost my first one to Helene and bought the same model to replace it. I love it.

by:

This product was everything advertised. I rarely order online. Probably the most inpatient person in this world. So when I'm telling you this. It's really how it was. Shipping seemed a little long for me. In reality, it probably was ahead of time. Approximately 10 days to my porch I do believe. Assembly was a breeze. Would recommend this sight to others. I hate hooking up to a trailer all the time. This will allow me to pick up longer lumber and carry bigger ladders with just my truck.

by:

Wasn’t expecting much for less than $100, but very solid and works great to transport a kayak in the short bed of a Ridgeline.

by:

This product is all it claims to be.
I'm
very pleased with it and would recommen it.

by:

Excellent Product, Simple to assemble, this will definitely get the job done when hauling longer lumber.

by:

It’s going to work great for 3 kayaks. We assembled it, it looks great, no complaints from this guy.

by:

Product is as advertised. Shipping was fast and all the parts were in the box. Easy to assemble. Everything I have ever purchased from etrailer has been first class.

by:

Good directions and easy to install. Fit the bill for hauling 12’ boards with my short bed F-150.

by:

I’m impressed with the design and simplicity of your product. I definitely feel like I got a good deal for the cost of the Maxxhaul. Thank you for making a worthwhile product !
My daughter had to put it together just to show me she could ! LOL !!!

by:

Love it! Can load low or high. Very versatile! Easy installation and storage. Couldn't be happier!

by:

Bought this to haul our tandem kayak. Works like a champ. Also used for lumber, ladders, timber, pipe and other materials finishing a home build. Who knew? It was a good purchase for a lot of reasons I never even considered.

My opinion is the same, a great purchase for a lot of reasons. Used it last week with the kayak and its perfect. It makes our Tundra more flexible and carries long loads more safely and securely. Get one. YOu wont regret it!

by:

This metal is thinner than the previous one purchased. I wish I bought the Malone instead because it might have thicker metal. That’s the last thing you want to worry about is your equipment breaking driving down the highway. In the picture you can see the old one is much thicker. I don’t it was a mistake at the factory.

by:

The bed extender works great. Very useful for carrying Kayaks.

by:

Easy to assemble and take apart, very solid construction and do simple to adjust... Very happy

  • Recommended Bed Extender for Carrying Two Kayaks w/ a Short Bed Truck
Hey Andrew. The Malone Axis Truck Bed and Roof Load Extender item # MPG907 and the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender item # FHG89ZR are practically identical. Not sure they would be the best option for 2 kayaks though. They each max out at 48" wide so you'd want to compare this distance to the width of your kayaks at different angles to see if they would fit. If you run into size issues with the width, I recommend using the Yakima LongArm Truck Bed Load Extender item # Y01149. This...

  • Truck Bed Extender for 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 Carrying Lumber
Hey Phil! A truck bed extender like the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender # FHG89ZR won't break unless you exceed the 350 lb capacity. However, when it comes to rattling it is somewhat unavoidable when you extend anything like this out and away from the single attachment point at the hitch. The best thing you can do is add an anti-rattle to cut down on the extra movement. I'm assuming you have a 2-1/2" factory hitch on your Sierra so you can use the Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer...

  • Can Truck Bed Extender be Used For Kayak on 2012 Audi Q5
Hi Kay, Yes, if you'd like you can use the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender # FHG89ZR to help transport and support a kayak from the bed of your 2012 Audi Q5. If you also need a hitch for your Audi, use the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75940.

  • What Bed Extender can I Use with My 2022 Toyota Tacoma?
Hello Kelly, I am sorry, but the Curt Universal Truck Bed Extender with Fold-Down Tailgate # C57WR is no longer available. What are you trying to haul that you were looking for that kind of extender? We do have the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender - 2" Hitches - 350 lbs # FHG89ZR which would go inside your 2" receiver on the back of the truck. Would this work instead?

  • Truck Bed Extender With Load bar Wider Than 38 Inches
For a truck bed extender with a bar wide enough to carry and haul something that is 38 inches wide you could use the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender - 2" Hitches # FHG89ZR which has a load bar that extends up to 48 inches wide.

  • Hitch Pin and Anti-Rattle Recommendations for Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender
To secure the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender # FHG89ZR and keep it stable I recommend using the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232. This not only has a locking hitch pin to keep the extender secured to your vehicle, but it also has a threaded block insert that pairs with the threaded hitch pin to stabilize the whole system so you get the lock and the anti-rattle you're looking for.

  • Best Way to Carry Long Kayak in Back of Short Bed Truck
Since you're already wanting to utilize your truck bed for transporting your kayak I recommend picking up the Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender # FHG89ZR as it allows you to secure and support the end of your kayak that hangs out the back of your truck bed. The uprights will sit 53-1/2" from center of hitch pin hole just to give you a good idea of what to expect with this extender. Just be sure to secure your kayak with a strap like part # 753-2030-02.

  • Can Flint Hill Goods Hitch Extender be Used with Jon Boat
Hey Robert, yes the Flint Hill Goods hitch extender part # FHG89ZR will work with a Jon boat. But you will also want some straps like the retractable ratchet strap part # Q54FR to secure it.

  • Will Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender Clear Spare Tire on Jeep Wrangler
Hey Paul, The Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender # FHG89ZR gives a 3 inch extension when in the vertical position, so it may clear the spare tire, depending on where the receiver is on your Jeep. A hitch extender should not be used as that would essentially be an extender in an extender, so I recommend checking out a different option, the Yakima LongArm Truck Bed Load Extender # Y01149. This is 9 inches from the hitch pin hole to the upright mast, which is going to give you the most...

  • Can Flint Hill Goods Truck Bed Extender be Used with 2016 Polaris Ranger
Hey Jeff, the Flint Hill Goods truck bed extender part # FHG89ZR can basically fit any vehicle that has a 2 inch hitch installed on it so as long as that is what you have on your Ranger it would work just fine. We don't have a pic of it installed in a Ranger hitch though.
