Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT OEM Fifth Wheel Hitch Legs for the RAM Towing Prep Package. Has a 25,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2013 and newer RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks, with the eight foot long bed, and the factory installed underbed towing prep package.
This custom base is specifically designed to attach to the receivers in your RAM's trucks factory installed underbed fifth wheel towing prep package, and it'll adapt most CURT fifth wheel hitch heads to fit the RAM puck system. The heads will attach right here. And they are designed, these legs here will work with the following CURT hitch heads. They work with the A16, the A25, and the E16, and they also work with the Q20, the Q24, and the Q25 hitch heads. All those hitch heads, we do sell separately on our website.
And that'll install this into the factory underbed system. I just wanted to show you. It uses the quarter turn anchoring system for a quick installation and removal, just to demonstrate that, we're zoomed in on this one leg. And you'll do this on all four legs. But what you'll do is flip up this safety pin, and take out the safety pin.
And you can see it's tethered, so you won't lose it. Once that's out, just move this away, and then just rotate this 90 degrees. And you can see, if you notice, when you rotate it, that tab at the bottom will rotate, and that'll let you take it out. In other words, when you open it like that, that's in the unlocked position. So, you do this on each leg, and now you're ready to drop this into the factory system on your RAM truck.
Once these drop into the pucks that are in your factory system, then you just take this, rotate this back, and by doing that, it rotates the tab here and locks it into the puck. And then, to make sure it stays, you just put your safety pin through there, and that will hold that in spot. And again, you'll do that on all four legs. And these anchors right here, they can be adjusted to eliminate movement between the legs and the underbed rails. Now, the finish on this, it is co-cured in a rust resistant liquid A coat, and it is protected by a durable carbide black powder coat finish. Again, the gross towing weight capacity is 25,000 pounds. But that should do it for the review on the CURT OEM Fifth Wheel Hitch Legs for the RAM Towing Prep Package, and this has a 25,000 pound gross towing weight capacity.

I purchased this Curt 5th wheel hitch base for my 2022 Ram 3500. I had a Q25 5th wheel head and needed the base for the factory puck system. I transport RV's both bumper pull and 5th wheels for a living. The Curt 5th wheel hitch has worked flawlessly.

One year update since my last review on this product. Its still working flawlessly.
Fits as it should. I haven't pulled with it yet.
Fairly easy install but recommend having help. It’s quite heavy once assembled with the head mounted. One of the cords that holds the rings to the legs snapped as soon as I tried to insert it for the first time. Other than that, this product is great. Fits perfectly.
Fit to my existing curt Q20 fifith wheel hitch. Dropped right into the holes on the RAM frame, and fit perfect. Easy to assemble,with only 6 bolts and the price was right.

The hitch legs worked exactly as expect ed.
Very well built. The hitch is heavy and requires two people to remove or put in easily. I use my skid steer to put in and take out. I am very pleased with the hitch and glad I bought it.

In my opinion this is the best hitch made. I would recommend it to anyone.
As always etrailer customer service is excellent. The item shipped right away and was actually delivered ahead of schedule. The fifth wheel hitch legs fit perfectly with our Curt A16 hitch head and they fit perfectly in our 2021 Ram 2500 truck. They were very easy to install. I cannot give 5 stars due to the poor packaging and scratches on the hitch legs during shipping. Curt really needs to tune up how they package these heavier items. Other than so far so good.

Worked perfectly to update/upgrade my rail to puck.

Doing great no problems whatsoever.
Product was easy to assemble. Purchased it after trading in my old truck and needed a factory prep frame for the new vehicle. My Curt 16k hitch head that I was using with a universal sliding mount fit perfectly.
Recieved my Ram oem Curt 5th wheel legs today. Ordered last Thursday and received them today Wednesday. Excellent price with free shipping. Box was beat up but everything I have ever received from Curt has been. Parts are heavy and burly. Everything purchased was included, no damage. I will use etrailer in the future. I am pleased.
I had a base that I bought from the ram catalog at my dealership. Don't do it. It is heavy and cumbersome and hard to handle. The folks at etrailer helped me locate a better and easier to handle base for the fifth wheel head I had from Curt. I ordered and they shipped it from stock and I received it in less then 48 hours from ordering. The etrailer people are really great to work with.I feel like I have found the right combination for supply to us for our trailer and towing needs. We have an Open Range 5th wheel and etrailer has provided all we missed to make it a great towing experience. Thank you all for your assistance.... and follow-up.
