Quiet, Secure Ride
The 3/4" thick jaw on the Patriot is precision machined to provide a tight, sturdy connection. And unlike slide-bar models, the rounded 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.
In addition to the sturdy jaw, the Patriot has durable polyurethane bushings built in to provide a smoother, more comfortable towing experience. These bushings sit on top of the pivot arms that support the fifth-wheel head. Because the head is resting on padded area, it is able to pivot without clanking. The ability of the head to pivot - both front to back and side to side - along with the trailer also helps to limit the chucking that may occur with a more static hitch.
Non-Binding Latch Handle
The dual jaw on the Patriot is operated by a simple-to-use cam-action handle. This handle allows you to quickly and easily release the jaws on the hitch, even if you are on uneven terrain. If any binding does occur between your truck and trailer, the jaws may remain closed after you move the handle to the open position. But because the handle is unlatched, there is nothing keeping the jaws closed except for the binding pressure. Therefore, simply driving your truck forward will be enough to force the jaws to open.
The cam-action handle is held in the closed position with the included pin and clip. For extra security, you can replace the pin with a sturdy padlock. The shackle on the lock you choose should have a diameter of 5/16", height of 3", and a width of 2-1/4".
Easily Adjustable Design
The B&W Patriot can be adjusted front to back as well as up and down for optimal positioning. As a result, this hitch can accommodate the height of your trailer and also help to give you the cab clearance needed to execute turns while towing.
To adjust either the height of the Patriot or the fore/aft positioning, just attach the hitch's pivot arms in the desired location on the base. The above diagram gives an indication of where to mount the arms so that you get the height and the cab clearance that you need.

Glad I went with B and W Patriot Hitch. Once the bed rails were installed the rest was a breeze. Now it's time to get a 5th wheel and hit the open road. etrailer, my go-to website.
Great product and you have to appreciate made in America with American steel! It arrived in good shape in only three days. I ordered on Sunday and shipped the same night. etrailer is great company to do business with!
Straight forward install. I've had it in my RAM 2500 for a year now and have pulled my camper for around 7000 miles in that time and have had zero issues with the mount.
Already installed the next day!
In all, this was a painless order. The shipping was not only free, but quick. The heavy hitch was delivered by a semi tractor trailer in good order and condition.
I would say it was about 6 hours to install, including careful reading of instructions. The video was very helpful and I would watch it. To get a torque wrench on the front right bracket I had to take off the tire to swing the torque wrench.
By following the directions, the install went smoothly. And it looks nice too!
Bravo.
I bought this hitch to replace a slider hitch from another manufacturer. I wanted something I could get out of the bed without help, and with the 2" offset, I can get plenty of angle in a tight turn, thus eliminating the need for a slider.
So far this hitch is fantastic. Hook up is so easy. Handle moves with zero effort. Same for unhooking. As soon as it was installed, I did a test run, and it was rock solid. I tried to make it chuck when starting and stopping. It wouldn't do it. Zero slop. On that note, the tolerances are tight on this thing from the bolt holes to the legs that insert it into the rails. My rails we're not perfectly lined up and required a little dremel and foot stomping to get it in the rails.
In summary, if your looking for solid, conventional, non-slider FW hitch, this one is a great choice.
ISR bed rails installation has/is performing well - as advertised. I have the anderson ultimate 5th wheel hitch installed on these rails. The only negative comment i have is 'soft' lock washers provided with the hardware. They began to 'mushroom out' when I torqued bolts to specification. Otherwise would have been 5 stars
Hitch came quickly and installation was easy. Only hiccup was I have a curt rail adaptor for a turnover ball and one of the braces rubbed a support for the rail but was easily corrected. Hook up to and disconnects from my fifth wheel camper with ease. I have not towed with the hitch as of yet.
We have had our B&W The Patriot Slider now for a year, we had the dealer install for us and we can't be any happier with it. We get minimal noise from it, and coupled with the Trailair Rota Flex that already came on our new to us 5th wheel we get minimal herky jerky movements. The hitch came as promised in minimal time frame, we will definetly continue to use etrailer for major items such as this.
Wow what a big difference my new 16k Patriot hitch has made. Easier to hook up and unhook my 5th wheel. Definitely makes a smoother ride, no up and down, up and down. My only regret is I should have bought it sooner. Thanks for a superior product!
Great product, and excellent support; very happy. It took me a little over 4 hours to install, but if you have a good helper and a lift it could be done in half that time.
The instructions weren’t great, but the YouTube video was extremely helpful, be sure and watch it first.
An impact is highly recommended and some extensions were necessary to reach the driver side front brackets.
The team worked with me to get the missing hardware from the manufacturer. Would reccomend.
Beautiful craftsmanship.
Arrived without a scratch.
All bolt holes lined up perfect.
Replacing a noisy slide bar hitch. This one looks like it will be very quiet.
Love that it's made in America with American steel.
Product is good however the instructions are not only wrong but mis-leading. Thank good for Tractor supply. The hitch works great!
This hitch has been great and after a year of usage there have been no issues. It hooks up and realeases smoothly. While towing there is no noise transfered from the trailer due to the hitch being isolated by bushings. The top section is removable making it easier to install and uninstall.
I purchased this kit to install new 5th wheel rails for my 5th wheel on my 2021 Ram 2500. At first it was kind of scary. the thought of drilling holes in my truck bed was nerve racking. What if I drilled the hole in the wrong spot. The directions that came with the rails made it very easy to do. It took me about 3 hours to do the job by myself. I will say if you can have a 2nd person to help it makes it easier.
Extremely satisfied with B&W Patriot hitch. Easy to hitch and release. Like it better than Reese I had. E trailer made it easy to order and was shipped promptly to my home. Will do business with them again.
Shipping was as expected, product arrived in good condition. Directions were clear and easy to follow. The installation video on etrailer.com was of great help and it was nice tool to have.
good price fast shipping heavy duty pac kaging

Love it perfect fit just like customer service said great instructions no issues
Product was easy to order and arrived in less then a week. Took a short time to assemble and install on my PullRite rails.
Installed this kit on my sons 2021 Ram 2500 and he uses it almost daily in his work as a contractor, pulling a goose neck trailer. He also uses it to tow his fifth wheel camper. Likes the interchanability of the tow heads as a convenient fast option. He had the fifth wheel and gooseneck heads from his previous truck.
I purchased this hitch one year ago and it is very high quality. I tow a light 21 foot 5th wheel with my RAM 1500 Eco Diesel. I was able to adjust the hitch so that the trailer moved back several inches from the cab that provided better maneuverability compared to my other hitch. I was also able to adjust so that the trailer was perfectly level with the truck. The hitch provides a much tighter connection with the king pin which substantially reduces movement and noise. It was easy to assemble and etrailer did a great job with the entire purchase/shipping experience. Would highly recommend.
did what it was supposed to do
PROS: Brackets and rails fit perfect and look good in the truck. Height of the rails will make it easy use the bed with the 5th Wheel Hitch removed. Used with a Husky 16KS Hitch I transferred from another truck, and it fit the rails perfectly. CONS: The hardware kit I received did not fit my 2014 Ram 2500 Tradesman, the bolts were too large for the factory frame holes, had to buy new hardware to install the brackets underneath. Also, the hardware kit did not include a nut carrier tool required to install the rear passenger side rail bolt that is placed in a very tight location on the truck. I recommend test fitting all the hardware and conducting a full inventory before starting the project to save yourself time and some frustration.

You mentioned that the hardware did not fit with the factory rail holes and I wanted to see if you could send a picture of those locations.

The issue was not the location of any holes, they all lined up like they needed to and the ones we had to drill through the bed were all fine. The issue was the bolts provided to secure the mounting brackets to the existing threaded frame holes in the truck were too large, they wouldnt even begin to thread into the frame. It is possible I received the wrong hardware pack for the truck, the box was previously opened and re-taped when it got here, I do have pictures of that I could provide. If you would be willing to send out a hardware kit for the truck so I could try the bolts in it, I would not argue, a couple of the bolts I ended up using were a little soft threaded and stripped during the torque process, I would be happy to get back under there with the right ones and tighten things up before the next camping trip. Let me know what ya think. I am very happy with the look and function, but the hardware issue cost me a couple hours on the install and excess frustration so I could not give a 5 star review to a good product

I will have our customer service team reach out to you about sending out new hardware.
Installed myself on a 97 F-350 DRW. Having never done this before, I was a bit uncertain, but it was really quite simple. Honestly the hardest part was reaching all the bolts with my torque wrench (purchased some long extensions and a creeper). Don't forget the odd drill bit size if you are going to DIY.
Don't forget to order the "lube plate".
Maiden Voyage:
Towed 14k 5th wheel from CA to Arkansas and back. No issues with the hitch whatsoever.
Hooking up is pretty straight forward. It takes some practice to get the level of the kingpin on the trailer just right. Unhooking seems to require getting the height of the trailer just right, taking most of the weight off of the hitch.
I'm still a bit confused on the release lever. When unhooking, I remove pin and pull lever. It seems like it wants to snap back into closed position, but if the weight is off the hitch, when driving away it seems to just let go.
As a noob, I made one fatal mistake. I didn't put the tailgate up after my first post-install test. I only wanted to pull the trailer forward and back it up, turning the wheel slightly to move trailer over a couple feet. The tailgate made contact with the trailer and punched a hole in the underside. Paybattention to the tailgate!

Ive used my hitch six times in the last year and had zero issues. The approach plate has rusted some but that was from towing another unit without a pin cover. I mention this so others know the importance of having one to prevent metal on metal contact. I installed this unit myself and torqued everything to spec, nothing has come loose. If youre reading this to determine if you can do it yourself, just do it. Its slow and Id give the difficulty 35 but by no means impossible. Just be thorough when measuring where to put the holes in the bed and make sure the fuel lines arent touching, which is a matter of pulling the clips off and repositioning the hoses
