Question:
I have been researching your hitch suggestions. Ive come up with a couple of hitches that Im interested in . The first is the 16 or 18k Patriot but a concern is how secure is the head since it is easily removable. If the springs fail will it still help the head attached to the base or will it cause the base to disconnect. The 2nd is the Demco 21k premier but I have read that it can sometimes be difficult to lock in. But I do like how the jam circles the pin and also has the security of the slide bar. The other is the Reese you suggested but Im not a fan of the individual side brackets.its close to the style I have now and mine is starting to have a little side tilt. What do you feel would be the best ... Thanks.

The 16k B&W Patriot part # BWRVK3200 and the 18k version part # BWRVK3255 are both very nice hitches that are incredibly secure. You would not have to worry about either disconnecting while in use as that's virtually impossible. A lot of people consider the B and W hitches the best on the market so if you are interested in them at all these would be an excellent choice. Of what you mentioned these are you best choices.
The Demco Premiere Hijacker part # DM6076P-21K is another solid choice. It works well and doesn't break the bank. It doesn't have quite the stellar reputation as the B and W hitches but it would be a solid choice.
The Reese M5 part # RP30928 that you mentioned too is right up there with the B and W hitches. In my opinion the edge goes the B and W as it's made in the USA, costs a little bit less, and the head comes off for an easier removal. But from a functioning standpoint the Reese would be just as high quality as the B and W. These are both the top options for hitches.
