SportRack Bike Racks SportRack Cargo Carriers

SportRack

SportRack was originally founded in Canada as a manufacturer of ski racks for the automotive industry. They eventually entered the world of bike racks using the same motto as they did when creating ski racks: easy-on, easy-off. SportRack racks are simple to use and versatile (most can be used on 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch hitches).

  • Offers bike racks in hitch and spare tire mounted
  • Special lock created just for SportRack racks with built-in anti-rattle
  • Racks with locking knobs eliminate need for cable lock to prevent theft when bikes are on rack

  • Recommend Hitch Bike Rack That Will Also Allow Me To Tow A Trailer
  • One option would be to use a dual receiver like the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, part # D210. This will allow you to mount a bike rack to the top receiver while towing a trailer. The total tongue weight capacity of part # D210 is 750 lbs and the receiver portion is rated to carry 350 lbs. You will want to make sure not to exceed the towing and tongue weight capacity of your hitch and your vehicle as stated in the vehicle owners manual. The tongue weight will include the bike rack and...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for Use Behind a Travel Trailer
  • Only certain bike racks can be used on the back of a travel trailer and I have included a link to them for you. The SportRack spare tire bike rack, # SR2813, is not rated for use behind a trailer. What I recommend is installing a trailer hitch on the trailer using # 13703. It fits box frames, C-Channel, and I-Beam frames. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. With this hitch installed you would need to use a stabilization strap, # 18050, with a bike rack....

  • Roof Rack Options for a Pop Up Tent Trailer
  • You are correct, the Sportrack Tent Trailer Roof Rack, # SR1020, will not work if the trailer roof has rounded edges. What you need is a system that comes with tracks that mount to the top, flat part of the roof. Take a look at the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack System, # Y01-120. The tracks with this system are 63 inches long. You also get 4 feet and 2 load bars. Make sure to check the trailer owners manual or with the trailer manufacturer to make sure that the trailer can be fitted with a roof...

  • Roof Rack Recommendation For Jayco Popup Camper
  • We have a couple of racks that may work for the top of your Jayco popup camper. I recommend the SportRack Pop-Up Camper Roof Rack, part # SR1020. This features telescoping crossbars that can be adjusted to lengths of 80, 83, or 86 inches. This rack has a weight capacity of 200 lbs. This will not fit trailer roofs with rounded or curved edges. Another roof rack you may want to check out is the Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack, part # S80510. This system is not designed to be used with plastic...

  • Recommended Cost-Effective Kayak Carrier for Use on Fiberglass Truck Topper
  • If you want to be really cost-conscious you can skip the roof rack entirely and simply use one of our foam block type kayak carriers on your truck's topper. These are designed for transporting kayaks on vehicles that do not have a roof rack of any type. All such carriers can be seen on the linked page; one bargain-priced example is the SportRack # SR5525. Advantages of foam carriers include price (as stated) but also very light weight (which saves your topper's weight capacity for the...

  • Replacement Latch, Locks, and Keys for a Karrite Voyager Cargo Box
  • For the old Karrite Voyager cargo box you would use replacement latch # 03347. The replacement locks and keys, # SR03807, should also be the correct fit for the box. For the hinges, replacement parts are not available. If they are not moving freely then you may need to remove the hinges, inspect them for damage or to see if they are bent, give them a good cleaning, dry them completely, then use a house hold lubricant to assist in movement. Cargo box lids can kind of stick a bit even...

  • Replacement Cradles for a Bell Bike Carrier
  • To determine if any of the cradles we have fit your Bell bike rack you will need to measure the diameter of the arms the cradles slide onto. A 1 inch diameter or 1-1/4 inch diameter is fairly common. If the carrier has a 1 inch diameter then you could potentially use # HR740-P or # 853-7887. For a 1-1/4 inch diameter you could potentially use # 05002900000, # 852-3005-002, or # HR750-P. None of these cradles have been tested on a Bell bike rack but if the arm diameter is a match then...

  • Replacement Key for Karrite Explorer Cargo Box
  • If you can locate the key number on your existing locks (see photo), we might be able to obtain replacement keys. If the key number shown on your lock begins with the letter N, you can type THKEYNxxxx (with the x's representing the actual key number) into the search box on the home page of our website. If the key you are needing does not show up on the search, please reply with the number of the key you are needing. If it is available, I will have it added to the website for you.

  • Replacement Key for a Sears X-Cargo Box and All Replacement Parts Available
  • We have replacement keys for your Sears X Cargo 20 series cargo carrier. In order to get the correct one you will need to know the key number of your current setup. If you do not have a key to get the part number off of, the lock on the cargo box should have a number engraved in it that you can use for the key number. Once you have the key number type into our search box the letters, THKEYN, followed by the 4 digits of your key number and the correct key will come up for you. For...

  • Locking Hitch Pin Recommendation for Curt Bike Racks
  • Good news, I went out and grabbed the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for SportRack Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers # SR0901 and one of the Curt Premium 4 Bike Racks part # C18064 that you also referenced to test the two and found that the hitch lock fits the threads of the Curt bike racks so the # SR0901 would work well as a locking hitch pin for the Curt bike racks.

  • How Can I Tow a Camper and Use a Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Together at the Same Time
  • If your hitch is a 2 inch hitch, the best option would be a dual-purpose ball mount, like Curt part # D210, that would provide a ball mount for the trailer coupler ball as well as a secondary tube for a 2 inch bike rack. With this, you should be able to use the SportRack 3 Bike Rack # SR2403 that you were looking at, or any other 2 inch hitch mounted bike rack. You must take extra caution though and keep a careful eye on the tongue weight of the trailer and the combined weight of the...

  • Recommended Kayak Carrier for 2015 Ram 1500 Quad Cab Towing Travel Trailer
  • I can offer you a simple and very cost-effective option for transporting your kayak on your 2015 Ram 1500 Quad cab. Foam block type kayak carriers (shown on the linked page) offer a powerful combination of virtues: they are inexpensive, lightweight, fast and easy to install and remove and they require no permanent mods to your truck. For instance, SportRack offers their 1-kayak carrier system # SR5525 and also an adjustable version # SR5527 that fits kayaks of various widths. These...

  • Correct Replacement Mounting Hardware for SportRack Explorer Cargo Box # SR7087
  • Yes, the replacement cargo box mounting hardware kit you ordered, part # SR05493, is the correct kit for the Explorer Series cargo box. My contact at SportRack confirmed this also. The key to whether these will fit your Jeep Patriot crossbars is the crossbar width. The u-bolts included in this kit are 4-inches wide. As long as your crossbars are not wider than 4-inches you should have no issue fitting the hardware to them. It may be necessary, as you noted, to drill new holes in...

  • Must the Bow and Stern Tie Down Ropes be Used When Carrying a Kayak on a Subaru Outback
  • The J-Stacker Kayak Carrier, # SR5511, is one of our most popular kayak carriers and is designed to work on Thule square bars, round bars and most factor crossbars. This kayak carrier would be my recommendation for your Subaru Outback. It is required to tie down the bow and stern when carrying a kayak on top of a vehicle. I spoke with my contact at SportRack and found out that the ropes are made of a soft polypropylene material that should not damage the paint on your vehicle. These...

  • Can Foam Blocks Fit Around TracRac Ladder Rack Bars to Carry a Kayak
  • The TracRac ladder rack bars are quite large; too large for me to be comfortable saying that you could trim away foam blocks # SR5525 to fit around them. But I do have a solution for you. You can use the Thule Surf Pads # TH803 to protect the hull of the kayak. These pads will fit the old Thule Xsporter bars which are similar in shape and size to the TracRac bars. You would then just need bow and stern tie downs to secure the kayak to the TracRac bars, # TH855XT.

  • Options for Carrying 2 Kayaks on a 2012 Volkwagen Jetta without a Roof Rack
  • I have a solution for you, however, there are a few things we want to look at before we can determine exactly what you need to carry both of your kayaks. The first step to take before carrying any kayaks or cargo on the roof of your 2012 Volkswagen Jetta is to find the weight capacity of the roof. A Volkswagen dealer may be able to provide this information since your vehicle did not come with a factory roof rack. Exceeding the weight capacity of your roof could damage the vehicles roof. The...

The hardware kit's u-bolts will fit around crossbars that are as wide as 3-3/4-inches. By the way, your Sears Karrite rooftop cargo box was produced for Sears by Thule/SportRack, which are sister companies. • Bike Rack Recommendations to Carry 2 Beach Cruisers on a 2011 Toyota Camry
  • We do have a few options that will allow you to carry your beach cruisers with your 2011 Toyota Camry. Since beach cruisers are usually heavier than other adult bikes, I would recommend using a hitch mounted bike rack like the SportRack Platform-Style Bike Rack, # SR2901. Using a hitch mounted bike rack is the safest way to carry bikes because the bikes and the bike rack will not contact your vehicle. The platform-style rack also makes it easy to load and unload heavy bikes. This bike rack...

  • Roof Rack for a Palomino Pop-Up Truck Camper to Carry a Canoe

And you will probably want some end caps, # THEC1, to keep water out of the bars. The bars can be trimmed down for the appropriate length. For a canoe carrier that fits the bars you can use # TH819.

  • Securing the Bow of a Kayak or Canoe on a Ford Edge
  • Securing the front tie down for a kayak or canoe under the hood is common. Thule offers the Hood Loops, # TH529, and Quick Loops, # TH530, so you do not have to attach the hook directly to the edge of the hood. I would strongly recommend using these products. You can also use them for your rear hatch if you do not have a strong attachment point for the stern tie down. I have attached a demonstration video for you to check out.
