2 things. 1st@: I think there should be an option to pick tinned wire. 2nd: The ring terminal for the ground needs to be bigger.

I installed a trailer brake kit on my Ford Ranger over a year ago, finding the misc parts and install kit with the help of the etrailer Folks. My truck was rear ended recently, smashing the 7 pin connector, that came as one part number for multiple parts, mounted through the bumper. Calling the etrailer folks, they were able to single out the part I needed without buying the entire install kit again. One five minute phone call and I'm on my way again! Very pleased!

I just had to clip a few wires and it plugged into the 4 prong connector on the van and it works as it should

It's a bundle of wires with a plug. Hard to make this type of part special above other brands. Price is the big factor. Not quite sure why this one is 50% less cost than some others. But works as expected. Solved the dreaded taillights blinking while traveling on the road.

Just what I needed for my home-built bike carrier. My wife rides an e-tricycle and by the time I loaded the trike and a couple of bikes on this platform, you could not see the car's taillights or blinkers. This harness worked perfectly!

Used this to rewire a 6 x 10 trailer. Inserted the wire through 3 feet of metal conduit to keep it from being damaged near the coupling. So now the only exposed wire is the ¼ inch right at the connector.

It served its purpose to convert 4 connection to 7 connection to make it compatible with Toyota 7 connection set up diagram which is different than many American or other 7 point connection. Thank you E-Trailer . 5 stars and it's working just fine 1 year out from installing.

Love the compact size for both 7way and 5/4 way connections. Install was pretty easy. The wire instructions are for a traditional 7 way color code. Would be nice if they included a RV color code and heavy duty. But just a multi meter or cross reference with your wires manual is all that's needed. I did not give 5 stars because I did not like the 2 flimsy hook connection to attach the wire shield backing to the connector. I reinforced with some black tape because it was sperated. Also would have liked if the 5/4 way door was spring loaded just like the 7 way. I mounted my connection sideways to use gravity to help keep that flap close.

Heavy duty constructed is definitely a plus there are a couple shortcomings that I was surprised to see.. first off for it to be truly waterproof where the cable enters the back of the plug needs to be more waterproof. Also stainless steel screws were not used and I just don't understand why they are selling a product that cannot stand up to the test of time and these are two rather inexpensive improvements that can be made.

Perfect . My new Subaru hitch has a flat plate to which the dealership attaché the 4-flat. I used “2 L-brackets” to accommodate the 90 degree bend of the adapter bracket.

I recently had a receiver hitch installed on my 89 Silverado and the wiring was merely zip tied to the safety chain connection. Well that didn't sit well with me. I wanted a more permanent wiring connection point. So I purchased your 4 flat to 4 flat and 7 way plug and installed it. So far so good. The installation turned out perfect and it looks good. The test lights are a great thing as well. I couldn't be happier.

It works, it doesn’t have indicator lights so it doesn’t make my Rivian think I’m towing unless I actually am. The cap is difficult to remove as it’s recessed into the unit, overall it does the job.

This adapter plugs in to the OEM receptacle without any excessive effort and the flat 4 pin connector on my utility trailer also plugs into the adapter without any excessive effort. As a bonus there is a cover for the 4 pin side of the adapter to protect it the elements when not in use.

The product was exactly what I had hoped for, a high quality exact replacement for the one that I had that was 17 years old. It arrived when it was supposed to and was easy to install.

Heavy built. Very much wish it had a cable clamp on the backside similar to its male equivalent. As it is all the strain on the wiring/cable is supported by the terminals themselves.

My '92 GMC Sierra had a 6-pin trailer harness connector and I'm going to be pulling a pop-up camper in a few weeks that has a 7-pin connector. I originally ordered a 47435 6-Pole to 7-Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter. After thinking about it for a day I changed my mind and ordered a HM48470 Hopkins Endurance Multi-tow 7-way, 5 & 4-wire Flat Connector to mount in the bumper and a HM47570 Hopkins Endurance Multi-tow Connect Adapter - 7-way To 6-way, 5-way and 4-way. The HM48470 will allow me to pull the pop-up as well as giving me the 4-wire flat connector that I need for my boat trailer. I bought the HM47570 adapter just to cover all the trailer wiring needs I might run into. I really like the fact that the 47570 adapter has the quick change plug to cover both wiring arrangements for 6-pin trailer connectors. I placed the original order Saturday evening and the second order Sunday afternoon. Monday morning, I called etrailer.com to try to cancel the first order and was told that both orders were already boxed and on the way the shipper. I had no idea that they had people there to pull and box orders on the weekend. I asked about returning the first order when it arrived and was told by Helen M that it would be no problem at all. I needed an adapter for my electrical towing harness so the that I could use a 5-Way connector on my 7-WAY plug. On line, I found and ordered Item No. HM47570 "HOPKINS ENDURANCE MULTI-TOW CONNECTOR ADAPTER - 7-WAY to 6-WAY, 5-WAY or 4-WAY." When I received the product, I was really stoked, it was exactly what I needed and what I had been looking for! I tried it on for "size" as you might say and it's going to work like a charm. I will send some photos later when I'm done with the installation! No time right now. . this coming weekend! Good solid unit that I expect to last a lifetime. I purchased this unit primarily to provide a charging port for a float charger. The idea being that if I forget about it or if someone else drives my truck and is unaware that it is connected, it will easily disconnect when the vehicle is driven away.

Works as stated, just plug in to7 pin connection on car, and plug 4 pin to trailer. Nice feature w/ led lights to check if connection is good

Would be a good product if it were compatible with my Rivian R1T. The truck detects the draw of the indicator lights and insists on staying in trailer mode. I had to buy one without lights. I may or may not have used the compatibility feature of your website but you should be sure that it is set to not recommend this product to Rivian owners

Exactly what I expected!

Note to self: Always push brake pedal firmly before releasing parking brake. especially when Jeep is slightly uphill from Blue Ox tow bar. :-) This was a very quick fix, (unfortunately not quick enough, the wife saw me before I could hide it) maybe took 10 minutes total. A socket set and a small phillips screwdriver are all I needed for this replacement.

This adapter really cleaned up the installation and connected directly to the wiring harness. Maybe added an additional 20 mins to install this adapter but totally worth the time and money.

II use it on my towed vehicle behind the motor home. It allows me to take motor home power to a trickle charger in the towed vehicle and connect to the towed vehicle wiring. The four prong receptacle provides outlet to be used if there is ever in need for a four prong fitting good.

I do not recommend this product. I bought this for my truck. It seems to be the nicest looking plug on the market but after the first rain, the plug was filled with water. I changed the location from the hitch to the bumper and once again the plug was filled with water after it rained. This condition will obviously lead to terminals corroding and/or wires being shorted out. I have bought a different style plug, unfortunately the same brand but hopefully I will have better luck. May be able to drill a small drain hole in the casing to allow water to escape but shouldn't have to do this on a new product.

I bought this socket for my 2006 Volvo Xc90 to wire in the 4-Pole harness I also purchased from etrailer. Already had a few 7 Blade to 4-Pole adapters from my previous vehicle, and wanted the option of adding a trailer brake wire for a small camper later on so that was the main reason for the purchase. It also went very well with the Hidden Hitch I had already installed, bracket mounted right up to the existing tabs on the hitch. Super quick and easy install, as all of my etrailer purchases have been. Looks great on the truck, and functions great with the 180 Degree cover.
