Best 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 5th Wheel Hitches

I am very happy with the B&W companion for my GMC with the OEM puck system. It was easy to install and is going to work great on my truck. I was worried about clearance with my bakflip bedcover on my 6.5 bed but it all worked out great. The photos, videos and Q & A really helped me make good decision so etrailer is going to continue to get my busness.

Love it; makes towing my fifth wheel a pleasure. This incorporates my puck system I. The truck bed... hopefully B&W will make one with a higher capacity in the near future.

The hitch appears to be very well made and of solid construction. All welds look great and fit and finish is excellent. Operation is smooth and tight. My unit is for GMC 3500HD w/factory hitch prep and unit seats into sockets very well and once properly adjusted it locks in place with solid connection. Initial out of box assembly and install was literally completed during my lunch break. Haven’t towed with it yet but I expect it will perform satisfactory.

What a great hitch. I've had Curt and Reese in the past, this is the first B&W for me. Super solid, extremely well built. The double locking jaws are fantastic. On the previous hitch, we had to be level or couldn't pull the disconnect lever, as the jaws would bind. On this hitch, that should never be a problem. I like how easy this disassembles, making it a breeze to remove from the bed when needed. All around excellent hitch, glad I purchased, and shipping was 4 days faster than anticipated.

Save yourself a headache and buy from a different place that knows how to pack their products. The hitch itself is a fine product but their customer service not so much.

Very nice-looking hitch. Easy install, fit perfectly in my "25" GMC 8' bed, easy to use. I tow an 18,000K 5th wheel.

The shipping was delayed but not a big deal. I ordered the B&W hitch because of the reputation and best of all it's American made. I was able to install the hitch in an hour. Make sure you have help to lift it, it's heavy...

Hitch arrived promptly. Installation and adjustment was easy enough. Took the new hitch for a test drive, it hitch up and pulled great. Took me ~1 1/2 hours to install this hitch and a new pin box on my trailer.

This hitch is quite when locking! I'm use to a loud "ping" with my old hitch which signaled good connection. It's not a bad thing, just different! It makes a good connection! I like how tight the dual jaw fits around king pin, zero play in connection which is great! The unit is well built, thick material. It makes zero noise when towing, I find myself looking in cam to make sure everything is alright with it.

Very impressed. Ordered online. Was Leary after bad experiences with other suppliers. Next morning received a tracking number and delivery date. I was out of town and when I returned home on the afternoon of delivery there set my packages in great shape. Easy to assemble and install. I'm totally satisfied and would definitely use them again.

Just installed that was fairly easy, can't rate because have not towed yet.

The new lower base for the Demco hitch arrived on Tuesday via Freight it was a great interaction the driver I actually knew from a previous delivery, me and a friend were able to lift the old one out of the bed of my truck and install the new one today and all I have to say is... PERFECT FIT! It appears that Demco has already redesigned the lower base compared to my original one to prevent this problem from happening again. I was actually kind of shocked to see that upgrade and change. I cannot say enough good words about you with etrailer and Demco working with me to get this problem solvedm Yes it took a little bit of work, ultimately this time we got it. I cannot thank you guys enough. My friend and I will be finalizing the installation and getting it locked down to the bed with a few custom spacers for the lower rails this weekend. Here are a few pictures of the installation resuming. If I remember , when I finally pick up my new camper, I'll send some pictures along too. Have to give credit where credit is due . Not sure of you have a customer wall at HQ. I know we had one in my old shop. Anyway.. thank you again .

Has to do a little assembly, really easy. Tows super nice, when turning does move towards the back. You’ll need to adjust the guides for the fifth wheel.

Just installed this CURT 16K ~5th wheel hitch into our new 2017 GMC truck. It took about an hour and it would have been nice if the directions would have told you what height each set of holes would produce. I'd recomend using some marine grease on the four puck joints prior to trying to lock them in. I really like this new hitch puck truck system over the Reese hitch with the bed mounted bars. I'd highly recommend this hitch if you have the factory GMC /Chevrolet puck system. The e trailer online help was truly appreciated as it steered me to the proper hitch for our new truck.

Very easy install. Looks great. Functions perfect. Easy hook up to fifth wheel. Perfect fit for my 2017 gmc HD Denali 3/4 ton with factory installed fifth wheel plate. Love it thanks. Just what I was looking for. Better than paying 1,000 dollars at chevy dealer for them to order.

I think that etrailer requires their employees to lie so as not to have any confrontations with customers on the phone. I placed two orders on 8/23 and immediately received followup emails that order received, order processed by (employee name) and then is in stock with associated time each step completed. Then I noticed that shipping date kept getting 1 day later each day I checked order status. So, I contacted etrailer on day 5, 8/27 and find out my item was not in stock at all and would not be until mid Oct. Well,I then had them order me the same part by a different manufacturer and was told that it was in stock and would still be still be shipped 8/28 and delivered on 8/30, the same day my fifth wheel hitch is being delivered, so everything seemed rectified until I checked order status online the evening of 8/28 and find that the ship date again had been pushed back another day 8/29 with a delivery date of 9/1, (which is a Sunday). Seems that at this rate I may have it sometime in September. Going by their assurance of delivery on 8/30, I arranged to pickup my new camper on 9/5, that seems to be an impossibility at this time because Order #121389499 the installation kit with base rails is a very necessary part of the assembly. So, in closing I can only say that if you do not have the parts to ship, be honest and state the truth. This has made me feel very negative now toward etrailor as I already had become with Camping World. Is there any honesty in the RV parts aftermarket?

This review is for the Demco Autoslide 21k and accompanying OEM rail adaptor I purchased for a 2020 Ram 3500 Megacab DRW. I've owned it one year. Overall, the hitch performs as I expected. It is high quality, very sturdy and seems like it will last for a long time. I had it installed at the dealer when I purchased the truck. It automatically slides to protect the cab in my 6'4" bed without any incidents. I tow a standard fifth wheel RV. There are a few negatives, which are not necessarily shortcoming of the product but, instead, necessary evils to allow me to have a short bed. First, it is BIG and BULKY. I believe this is just a function of the mechanism required to allow the autosliding feature and I am not really sure there are any other lighter alternatives with this feature. The fact it requires two parts (OEM Puck Rail and hitch), make it even more bulky. It takes up almost the entire bed and prevents most auxillary tank / tool box combos from fitting. Even standard size storage bins will not fit in my bed. I would prefer if they had a custom OEM all-in-one hitch for my truck like they do for the Ford. It adds significant weight, which decreases carrying capacity, which can be at a premium in hauling a heavy fifth wheel. I've never even tried to take it out of the bed due to the weight and difficulty. I also am not very happy with the adjustable catch plate design. It requires significant manipulation loosening and tightening 8 nuts when hitching and unhitching. This requires a step ladder to reach the nuts. I also found out after the fact that it does not come with the right size catch plate attachments for my hitch and I had to purchase a separate part, which added unexpected expense and delayed my taking the RV on its first trip. Overall, I am satisfied with the hitch.

This is a very nice and strong hitch. The shipping and delivery from Etrailer.com was right on time. There were no delays and it was packed well. I must say the the box with the hitch in it was extremely heavy. I have not pulled with it yet but with the design I believe that it will take most of the chucking out of process. It has a small foot print and I really like the fact that the wear pads are built into the hitch rather than the round one that slides onto the Pin. I will follow up with an update when we make the next trip.

The hitch arrived on time. Installation went fairly well. The only drawback was with the written and video installation instructions provided by Curt. The instruction manual and video fails to provide clear guidance on the bolt washer arrangement. There appears to be a standard package of bolts and nuts that must be used with other setups that Curt has and this leads to questioning exactly what you are supposed to do: use the nut, don't use the nut, lock washer with the nut, lockwasher on the bolt side. I went with using the nut (even though the video or manual addresses this) since it provides an additional capture mechanism and torquing a bolt into a plate with the forces that will be experienced by the hitch did not make sense. The first use went great.

I have ran a cheap competitor hitch for several years. A manufacturing defect (welded pivot pin) caused the hitch to fail and resulted in 18000$ damage to my truck and trailer. I chose the Curt 25000# hitch after much research and found it to be very well made and clearly shows when it is properly coupled. It is quiet and operates with minimal klunking and chunking going down the road. Overall I am very pleased.

Mounted this hitch on my flatbed 3500 Ram and the hitch works flawlessly. Pull 44' tri-axle weighing in at 23,000# with ease. Very easy to use and understand, very easy to maintain.

Can't wait until I pull with this hitch. I researched for a long time and this one fits all of my needs. When it went on sale, I took the plunge. I can't say enough about the quality of packaging from etrailer. I had many small items with this order as well and they put those items in a larger box with the head of the hitch. Everything was so secure that I had to use pliers to get the staples out so I could get the items out.

I found difficulty hooking up to the M5. About half the time I hit the back of the hitch it wouldn’t lock. So I sold it on marketplace taking a 50% loss and purchased a B&W.

Only thing it was missing was the bolts nuts washer lock washers and the pins for the fifth wheel where I couldn’t put the legs on it everything else was good good fifth wheel.
