Secure, Two-Piece Jaw

Q24 Two-Piece Jaw

Unlike slide-bar models, the rounded, two-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Three-Point Indicator System

Get peace of mind with Curt's color-coded lock indicator. Just look at the indicator - either the one on the handle or the one on the hitch itself - to determine whether the jaw is in the correct position to uncouple (red), couple (yellow) or tow (green).

Q24 Color Indicator System

360-Degree Pivot

Curt's unique spherical axial bearing provides a durable pivot point that allows easy, 360-degree movement of the hitch head. This ball joint is designed for smooth, quiet operation with less clunking and chucking.

  • Which 5th Wheel Hitch Will Work With My OEM Pucks and a Rotating Pin Box
Hey Steve, so between the Curt # C16265 and the Pullrite # PUL36ZR I'd go wit the Curt but not the Q25. I'd go with the A25 # C24FR, which is basically the same thing as the Q25 but does not require the # C88KR adapter. Only the Curt is going to work out of the box with rotating pin boxes so the Pullrite would need a wedge like # RP99FR or # MR74ZR to work with a rotating pin box, but you'd have to let me know what rotating pin box you have to get you the correct wedge. The Pullrite...

  • What Legs Fit a Curt Q25 5TH Wheel To Factory Pucks on 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 Short Bed?
For a Sliding Curt Q25 # C16566 to keep the sliding capability you would need to use the Adapter Rails # C88KR as there are not a set of specific legs to fit the slider on your 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the 6'10" box. If you have a Fixed Q25 # C16265 and want to used the Fixed Legs # CU53FR just know you will need to watch your clearances when making tight turns since the short bed you have will not give you enough clearance for jack knife turns. We do have the Curt R24 Round Tube...

  • Determining Hitch Height Needed For Proper Bedrail Clearance
The Curt Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC328329 is not compatible with a Curt E-Series or Q-Series fifth wheel hitch like your # C16265. The design of the Rota Flex will actually wear down the head of these hitches and end up breaking them. You'll want to immediately stop using the two together to avoid any chance of damage going forward and swap out either the hitch or pin box. To solve your bedrail issue we'll need to see how you trailer sit and the height of your bed to determine the...

  • Factory Prep Package Puck Adapter to Universal 5th Wheel Rail Compatible Hitch for Ford, Ram & Chevy
The Curt Q25 5th Wheel Hitch # C16265 will work with an adapter for the puck systems. You simply need to recognize that some adapters will limit the towing capacity. Curt is one of the hitches that uses legs compatible with the different pucks, so I will give you both options. For a Ram, you will use Reese adapter # RP30154 or Demco # DM6099. You can alternatively use the Curt legs # C16021 which will mount directly to your pucks. For a Chevy or GMC, you will use the Curt OEM 5th Wheel...

  • Differences Between Above and Under Bed Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounts for 2020 Ford F350
There are two ways to install a fifth wheel hitch on a pick up truck. One would be to use standard bed-mounted rails. Brackets are mounted to the truck frame with the bed rails sitting directly above. Holes are drilled down through the truck bed to correspond with holes in the brackets bolted to the frame, allowing the bed rails to be securely bolted down. The rails have slots in them that allow the hitch to be installed and removed pretty conveniently. The problem here is that once the...

  • How Many Bolt Holes Are Needed for a Lippert 1716 Pin Box
I spoke to my contact at Lippert and they informed me that on the Lippert 1716 Pin Box that you have, all six bolt holes per side will need to be used which means you would not be able to lower the pin box down to raise the front of the trailer. In order to gain more bedside clearance you will want to raise the 5th wheel hitch up. If you are maxed out now then you might consider the Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch which is one of the tallest 5th wheel hitches we offer at 21-1/2" tall....

  • Can a 20K 5th Wheel Hitch be Used to Tow a 20K Toy Hauler
Great question! Although a 5th wheel hitch rated for 20K can tow up to 20K we highly recommend using a 5th wheel hitch that is rated about 1K - 2K over the GVWR of your 5th wheel trailer. This gives you a safety margin and will help keep your hitch from prematurely wearing down from normal use. The only time you would be able to safely use the 20K hitch is if you didn't load your trailer up to the 20K capacity. If your toy hauler is 20K then I recommend going with either the B&W Companion...

  • Unlocking The Jaws On The Curt Q25 Fifth Wheel Hitch
It sounds to me like the jaws on your Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 25,000lbs Item # C16265 need to be greased or that you may have backed into the king pin with the jaws not locked in the coupling position and could have damaged the jaws. If you did damage the jaws you'll need to replace the head of the hitch with the Replacement Head Unit for Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 25,000lbs # C16565. • Troubleshooting Stuck Jaws on Curt Q25 5th Wheel Hitch
Thank you for all of the information regarding your Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16265 being stuck on your 5th wheel trailer. It sounds like you've got 2 things going on here; the first is that the jaws are binding, and the second is that the orbital pad has been broken. Binding happens when the truck and trailer are parked on an uneven surface and the king pin sits at a weird angle to the jaws and everything gets stuck. The only way to remedy this is to either hook your truck...

  • Comparing the Curt Q20 and Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for Differences
I measured the jaws and on both the Q25 # C16265 and the Q20 # C16130 the thickness of both is 1/2 inch. The differences are most obvious in the vertical load limit and the gross towing weight ratings. I reached out to my contact at Curt and the jaws are identical so the differences are in other metals being a slightly thicker gauge and the leg design. My contact said they are basically the same in the hitch head except for the slightly thicker gauge metal on the Q25 head.

The whole Curt Q-Series line like the Curt Q25 # C16265 you referenced is not compatible with the Rota Flex pin box line like the # LC328330, nor are they compatible with rotating pin boxes. The pivoting system of the pin box works against the pivoting system of the hitch head and can cause the components of the head to deteriorate, ultimately leading to the hitch head failing. 4 inches of clearance between the bed rails of your truck and the overhang of the 2020 Momentum 397 is the very minimum amount of clearance most refer to as safe. So strictly in that regard you aren't in a terrible position. That said, 6 inches is a much more ideal amount of clearance to have and it looks like your trailer might be a little nose low so it could stand to be raised in the front. Since pin box replacements aren't really designed for offering varying height setting you'd...
