Thule Wingbar Evo Roof Rack Installation - 2015 Ford Explorer

Hey everyone. It's Colin here at etrailer. Today we have a 2015 Ford Explorer, and we're going to do a test fit of the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack System. Now this roof rack mounts to the raised side rails of your Ford Explorer. It's going to allow you to get your favorite Thule accessories up on top of your roof. Whether you got a cargo box, a bike rack, or even a kayak carrier, you'll be able to get all that equipment on your roof and secure it.

Best 2015 Ford Explorer Roof Rack Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best roof rack options available for your 2015 Ford Explorer. Now when looking for the roof racks on your vehicle, these are the top three that you're going to find on our site. At the top we have the Thule AeroBlade Edge roof rack system. Here we have the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system. Here we have the RockyMounts roof rack system. Our Thule AeroBlade Edge roof rack system is going to consist of part numbers TH7504-TH7504, although you can also get these bars in black as part number TH7504B-TH7504B. With our Vortex Aero crossbar system it's going to consist of part numbers RRVA137B-2; those are the Aero crossbars.

Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack Installation - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're doing a test fit of the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars. The part number for our crossbars today, they're RRVA137B-2. For our foot pack that clamps around our raised rails, we're using RRFX005. Now we already have our front bar installed. We're going to show you how we put this last foot pack on here and then how we actually install our crossbar onto our vehicle. Everything that you see on this table is included with our kit. The only thing that you'll really need to provide yourself is a flat tape measure or a tape measure of some sort just to measure out that crossbar spread and the overhang.

Thule Roof Rack Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're doing a test fit of the Thule Aero blade Cross row Arrow roof racking system. The part numbers for the cross bars are THARB60, and for our foot pack TH450R. Now we have the first one already on our vehicle. Let me show you how we install this, it's pretty easy. All righty, we have our aero blade here, we have our foot pack, one is already on, going to show you how to put the other one. We have our tape measure to take our measurements.

Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're going to be test fitting the Yakima RailGrab system. This will be part numbers Y00409 for the bar, and Y00138 for the RailGrab feet. We already have our first bar up on our roof, so I'm going to show you how to install it just by doing the rear bar. It's the same process for both bars, so to save time we're just going to show you the one. I'm a little vertically challenged so I'm just going to set that up there while I hop up here. Helps if you have a friend do this so they can grab it from the other side, but you can do it yourself if there's nobody to give you a hand. Now our maximum crossbar spread that we can have on this vehicle will be 46 inches, which is pretty wide, so I'm going to put it to about here and we'll take a measurement on either side to make sure that that's even.

Whispbar Roof Rack Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer Limited, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Whispbar Bar-Mounted Roof Rail System, Part Number WB-S47. As you can see, we have the factory roof rails installed on this Explorer and we've already assembled and put on one of the Whisbars, so that's what it will look like when it's on there. This is spaced out to where we'll have a 28-inch crossbar spread. This is about 11 1/2 inches off the back and mounted just right underneath of the middle bracket for your factory roof rail system. Pretty much as far as you can get it under there, so it's fixed and ready to go. We'll go ahead and show you how the front one goes on. So, just go open up the door here and we'll step up.

Rola Roof Rack Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer Limited, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Rola Roof Racks Sport Series Roof Rack System. This is going to be 55 inches long and if you look here we already have our factory roof racks and one installed on the backside. A few things I want to show you on this is that if you undo the end cap, this locks and it will actually secure your foot pads in place for coming out as well as if you undo this one here, it will undo the turning mechanism that loosens and tightens with the rod here, your threaded cable and this will tighten up your tension around your bars. We'll go ahead and get it on here. All right we already mounted up our back one here to right behind the factory fix point and we are going to mount this one between 24 and 32 inches for our crossbar spread. We are going to come in a little bit here. We'll say 29 inches and once we've get it there we'll go ahead and tighten down this side and move to the other side.
