Purchased for a Dodge Journey with vertical mount hitch. Waited 5 months to get one from Chrysler and finally gave up found this one online. Sturdy design and does what I need it to. My only complaint is there is no recessed slot for the hitch ball to screw in tightly.
Tried to get this from the Dodge who put on the hitch. After six weeks of waiting I called you and got it in two days. Thanks.

Nice solid (not hollow) and WELDED hitch. Have logged about 5,000 miles this year with no problems. I had many problems with bolted on balls, welded hitches are the way to go.

I am using the hitch for a car dolly and a bike rack. The fit is a little loose for the bike rackmI'll see it really works when get on the road.
Quality is excellent. However, it did not work so I am not sure what to do with it. I thought I could use the top hitch for a Bike rack and pull a utility trailer with other toys. The trailer is too close to make a turn so good try but not able to use it. Thank you for asking. With good information from the website it was easy to order a Curt 2" Trailer Hitch, the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit w/ 4-Pole Connector and Circuit Tester - 119178KIT, Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches (3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 10-1/4" Long - 7,500 lbs - D-4), Curt Pin and Clip Hitch Receiver - C21500, Rubber Tube Cover for 2" Trailer Hitch Receivers - I-728,Review, and 2" hitch ball 40038. Parts were delivered earlier than the initial estimate. Self installation (on a sloped drive way) took just under 2 hour. The fit of parts was very good, instructions and on-line video's were very helpful. My Kia did not have the wire plug in option, but the splice connections in the wire kit were easy to install. Most of the parts are hidden from view when the ball mount is not used.
I have a custom made tow guard. The ball mount I have was too short to allow me to attach the tow guard to my new truck. I searched the web and found just what I needed at etrailer.com. I needed to tow a trailer with a 2" ball. My original ball mount has a 1 7/8" ball installed. I had previously tried to change a ball on a hitch and destroyed the nut and damaged the underside of the ball mount. The lock washer had done a great job in keeping the nut from coming off. I dreaded trying to remove my 1 7/8" ball to install a new one that I would only use once. I decided to buy a new ball mount and mount the new 2" ball. This ball mount is so inexpensive that I realized I could have both ball sizes permanently mounted for use in either ball size.
I wasn't sure what type of ball mount I needed for my new Mazda CX-9, so I had to call a representative. The first time I called, the very knowledgeable gentlemen told me exactly how to measure my SUV to figure out the drop I needed. I called back the next day and talked to a lady who helped me figure out exactly what I needed. This is my second purchase from etrailer. The first was a hitch for my old Honda Odyssey, which was also a great experience. Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ballmount - 5-1/4" Rise, 6-3/4" Drop - 6,000 lbs
New GMC AT4 required a new ball mount and this one fit all the requirements for the truck and new multi-pro tailgate. With the AT4, I needed more drop and a longer shank (12" hole) for the tailgate to not hit my trailer jack stand; plus, the multiple drop adjustments will make changing trailers a snap. Great product from Curt and great service from etrailer (as usual).
This is a great ball mount. Fits the Class III hitch on my Explorer perfectly. Works well with my locking anti-rattle pin. However, there is a little noise from the dual pins used for the adjustment. I called etrailer’s customer service to inquire about remedies for this and was told that there is an Allen key adjustment that needs to be tightened to reduce the noise. I have yet to tighten it but other than that, the ball mount has done a great job.

Great Product! After installing a Curt (C11184) Hitch on my '08 BMW 135i convertible, I needed a drawbar and ball. I really liked the elegant design and one piece simplicity that this one has. It is very sturdy and the dimension measurements were accurate. The whole reason I got it was to trailer my new (old) wood boat home from the barn I found it in. Once the hitch was on and the (56146KIT) Wiring kit was installed. This drawbar slid right in. Thanks to the accurate measurements the trailer sat at the perfect height the first time.

Curt Class II Drawbar - 5" Rise - 9-5/8" Long - 3,500 lbs
I am an infrequent trailer user, but getting my daughter home from college was necessary in March. This drawbar fits my hitch and utility trailer well, did exactly what it is supposed to do, and was the last thing to be concerned about right then. I have a '11 Mini Countryman S with a Class II receiver from Mini Fini, (which cost twice as much as a Curt) where the hole is flush with the fake grille near the bottom of the bumper cover, so I needed the long bar to reach out past the bumper. The Curt receiver for that car hangs visible underneath the bumper (ugly), which also increases the lever arm on the receiver beam and would have needed an even taller rise. (Curt take note!) All just part of the kit to create an occasional 1 ton pickup out of my Mini, leaving the "bed" at home most of the time.
Purchased for a Hyundai Elantra. After a 2" ball is mounted, there is about 7.5" from the top of the square shaft to the top of the ball. This is what was needed to get the center of the ball 18" off the ground for most U-hual trailers. This design has no plate edge protruding below the square shaft. This helps reduce scraping when going over bumps, which is an annoying issue with my other ball mount. I would have much preferred the euro ball mount, which has a nice 45' bend to avoid scraping, and a ball that will never vibrate loose, but one was not offered with this much rise. The ball mount is well made of solid steel, not a hollow tube. Finish quality is excellent. The mount does not come with the locking pin needed and so that must be ordered separately with the ball. Item was packed a little loose in the box and was clanking around with the other item I bought, but they did not get scratched up.
