Most Popular Fixed Fifth Wheel for 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Hitch works great, can now hook up to trailer without having to stop & put up tailgate, then finish backing up. Tailgate would hit front of trailer when hooking up. The two things I didn’t like as well as others, the box with the base unit was tore up, but unit was fine , and the cotter pins for puck latches need to include extras, or make holes bigger for keeper pins. Also added small chains to hairpins that hold look pins for top so they don’t get lost.

Finally got my new B&W Companion Gooseneck to 5th wheel hitch installed in the bed of my 2024 Ford F250 Lariat. While I have not pulled my fifth wheel yet, I have hooked up to check clearances, etc. first thing I noticed was how easy hooking up and unhooking was with this witch. This hitch is solid and I look forward to many miles traveling with it. My truck has 6.7 foot bed and in the picture I will send you will notice I still had room for a 43 gallon auxiliary fuel tank. I wanted to be able to easily utilize my truck bed and this hitch provides that in spades! Easy to remove and install. I absolutely have to give a shout out to Paula on customer service. She was amazing! My first shipment was damaged and missing a vital part. Paula had another one shipped right away and made my return shipment a breeze. She stayed in contact with me to the end. I felt like she shared in my joy once the install was complete! The hitch is super adjustable for optimal placement in the bed and height of the trailer. Make a few quick measurements and it just goes together quickly. Love the dual jaw release lever. Our last 5th wheel hitch had the standard pull to release lever and it was often very difficult to operate. This lever style is a game changer. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the product and customer service!

Everything fit just right. Only problem I had was getting to the installation instructions with the QR code that sent me to purchasing a new hitch.

The hitch came in two boxes, one for the head and one for the side legs. The head box (coroplast) was perfect but the legs box (cardboard) was all but destroyed. The legs were not well packed and have several scuffs / scratches in the paint. Some right down to the steel needing repaint. Overall the hitch is a heavy, high quality unit and fit the truck perfectly.

I haven't used the hitch yet, but while installing it I noticed: 1) the 4 bolts which connect the hitch head to its legs, or base boxes, are a smaller diameter than the 8 bolts that hold the pin box onto my 40' 5th wheel trailer, and 2) when mounting the legs into the 5th wheel prep package on my 2019 F350, I found that a snug adjustment is not possible, because of one or both of these design choices: a) coarse thread bolts are used here (vs. fine thread), and/or b) there is only one hole through each of the 4 base mounting bolts for the cotter pin to go through, so the castle nuts can only be made tighter or looser by turning the nut 1/6th of a revolution. This means that when you lock the hitch down by rotating the handles 90 degrees, that the locked-in position either feels too loose or too tight because 1/6th of a revolution of the nut is too much. If these bolts had a 2nd hole in them (or were fine thread) that would allow a 1/12th of a nut rotation adjustment. Smaller nut height adjustment would also mean a much greater potential of being able to adjust the locking levers to a firm pressure setting.

Great experience. Called etrailer to ensure I had selected the proper 5th wheel hitch for my F-250 with OEM goose neck puck system. Hitch arrived earlier than expected in perfect condition. Installation was very simple (you will need a torque wrench at least 100 ft pounds). Coupling / uncoupling very smooth and positive color indicator very helpful.

Good thing that etrailer.com put the Curt A16 box in a larger box for shipping. The outer box took a beating, but the inner box was barely harmed. Curt should have put padding between the two Ford OIM legs, they scratched each other a bit. The unit installed as per directions, and it looks great. Can't wait for our custom ordered RV to arrive. Thanks to etrailer.com for excellent review videos, and reading the FAQs helped me make my final decision as to which hitch to go with.

This is a top notch, very well built hitch. Dropped right in to my oem puck system on a 2024 Chev 2500 hd. The first hookup was so smooth that I wasn’t sure I was even on my kingpin. E trailer had it delivered the next day from ordering!! The other important thing to note is this hitch takes up a 17” x 30” footprint which is way smaller than an Andersen base.

Like most say the packaging could be better. But it came without any scratches and looks awesome. Didn’t take long to install. Directions were easy. Can’t wait to try it out! As always, eTrailer rocks. Will continue to purchase from them.

I have ran a cheap competitor hitch for several years. A manufacturing defect (welded pivot pin) caused the hitch to fail and resulted in 18000$ damage to my truck and trailer. I chose the Curt 25000# hitch after much research and found it to be very well made and clearly shows when it is properly coupled. It is quiet and operates with minimal klunking and chunking going down the road. Overall I am very pleased.

Mounted this hitch on my flatbed 3500 Ram and the hitch works flawlessly. Pull 44' tri-axle weighing in at 23,000# with ease. Very easy to use and understand, very easy to maintain.

Poor, and disappointing. Hitch is not even close to tall enough for most any camper. Can’t even get a finger between the bed and camper. Description is not accurate. Be weary. etrailer is also charging me to return for a taller hitch. Looks like I’ll be purchasing somewhere else unless they can make it right somehow.

Very good quality and well made fifth wheel hitch...No problems

I bought a new trailer recently that weighs 16k and I just didn't feel secure using my Reese pro series 16k to Haul with. So I started looking at various hitches. I've had 3 other fifth wheel hitches in the past. All of them have been 15 and 16k models. What I never liked was the latching system. I've even had a trailer come out of the hitch due to a poor latching hook up. There wasn't an good way to lock the hitch. Some of it was my fault and some was a poor design. When I saw the Curt Q20 had a latch on the handle and also was color coded I was hooked. This hitch satisfied my want list. It arrived 4 days after I ordered it and like other comments I've read it was full of heavy duty staples. It was double packaged. There had to be over 50 staples. It was defiantly packaged securely. After dimantaling the packing I finally got to the hitch. There were a few scratches on the hitch from all the staples but a bit of black touch up paint took care of that. After all the hitch is going to be used and get scrached by me anyways. Four bolts and it was together. It fit perfictly it my existing rails. By the way it's heavier than my other hitches. I wound be apprehensive to pull my new trailer. If your looking for a great hitch at a great price you can't go wrong.

They advertise you can be within 3” of hitch and still connect I found that you need to be almost perfect. And to latch and unlatch there can’t be any pressure going up or weight going down, you have about a 1/4” to play with. I found it to be rougher when pulling than a normal fifth wheel hitch. It is very light though.

We have the Anderson Hitch installed on our 2017 Ford SuperDuty and pull a Reflection 337RLS. We have traveled over 4,000 miles and have been extremely satisfied. The hitch allows plenty of clearance between 5th wheel, bed, and the truck cab. Hook-up and disconnect has always been easy, even with RV lots that were uneven dirt lots. I use Curt thin rubber sound dampeners (item 16900) and this provides a quiet, tight fit between the rails and hitch. Of course the light weight makes it easy to remove when not towing and less weight when you are towing. A great product for the right truck, trailer combination.

Just installed my 5th wheel. (mechanically inclined) 30 minutes and done. Whoever thought of the puck system in the newer trucks is a genius! BW made this bad boy heavy duty. Was all I could do to lift frame in place. Put in place loosened all bolts and it fit in place like a glove. Torqued bolts and cannot wait to get my new toyhauler hitched up!!

Out with the old and in with the new companion fifth wheel hitch. I bought them both from etrailer. The 16K fifth wheel hitch was purchased for my Silverado without a Puck system then I traded it in two years later for a Ram Laramie 3500 dually with a puck system. Stayed with B&W hitches because they are built to last and easy to use. etrailer my,"go to site". Yes it was a huge upgrade going from 16k patriot to a 25k companion hitch and worth every penny. Packaging of hitch needs to be better. Box did not hold up. Hitch was loose and bounced around in box. Holes in box. Small hardware box opened up and scratched up main base of hitch.

The trailer hitch is perfect and it is used all the time pulling an RV. If I do this again I will do it at the same place.

This hitch is average at best. It has been garage kept and already sticking and not opening properly. I have owned a 5th wheel camper my entire life and the 2 prior hitches was never serviced and gave no issues. I would not recommend this hitch to no one....

This 5th wheel has exceeded all my expectations. It’s worked flawlessly for thousands of miles and many different type of 5th wheels trailers. Not a peep, B&W FTW!!

I very much appreciate the expedited shipping and the follow-up. Appears all made it in good shape. Have put you guys on my favs along with Harbor freight, Home Depot, Cabella's, and Big 5.-----Tell more when installed. Will only use on occasion at Tree Farm.

Ive been using this fifth wheel set up for about 5 months now and I don't have any complaints. I pull a 2022 Heartland Cyclone 4006 toyhauler fifth wheel. Loaded down its usually weighing between 18 to 20,000 lbs depending on what we are hauling.
