The Curt Echo # C51180 picks up the brake lamp signal which then tells the controller that the brakes are being applied, and at the same time the internal accelerometer is telling the unit how quickly and with how much force the brakes are being applied.

While the # 119250KIT does need to attach directly to the positive post of a vehicle battery it does not draw any amperage unless there's a trailer connected to it so you do not need to worry about this draining the vehicle batteries when not towing. With a circuit connected to the harness amperage can be drawn but if there's no where for the amperage to go the pins of the connector (while active) would not drain the battery.

When installing the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR on 2018 Tesla Model 3's they needed to cut a 3-1/2" or 4" oval l(the larger opening will just give you more clearance to work with) on the underbody trim to make room for the drop-down 2" receiver. However, on the 2019 models and newer, there is a knockout panel provided so that trimming is not necessary.

This is a great question. On your new 2020 Tesla Model 3, there is indeed a factory cutout/panel already present on the fascia that allows fitment for the drop-down receiver on the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7373. The Thule Helium Pro 2 Bike Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting - Aluminum, part # TH9042PRO, is a hanging bike rack that secures the bikes at three points, the front and rear end of the top tube and the seat tube. The front wheel and handlebars of the bike are not secure. You could secure the wheel to the mast of the Thule Helium with a strap to keep the wheels from spinning. Do keep in mind this hitch bike rack has a weight limit of 37.5 lbs per bike.

The installation instructions for the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH84GR call for either a 3-1/2 inch or 4 inch hole saw. The advantage for the larger 4 inch hole is just more hand clearance to allow for easier mounting when inserting the receiver. I honestly just recommend going with the smallest possible hole (3-1/2 inches) as I'm sure you aren't overly enthused to cut into your Tesla's bumper fascia. In regards to the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver part # 391TES317 which is a fit for a 2020 Tesla Model 3, there will need to be an opening made in the underbody panel to allow for the receiver to protrude through. In some cases, there is already a knock out panel in this location but others there's not. I don't really have any advice for obtaining an underbody panel with this knockout so I must simply recommend that you make the cuts as outlined in the instructions.
