Both the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75673 and the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13206 will require drilling to install on your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon. It is only a 1-1/8" access hole though so it is pretty minimal.
The reason why we tend to recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitches over the Curt trailer hitches is because on a good majority or their trailer hitches (including this one) they require that a stabilizer strap like part # 18050 be used to help secure all... view full answer...
It is very easy, as you just use the included clamps to secure the Caprock to your roof rack crossbars. The clamps are secured to the channels under the platform, and can be positioned wherever needed to accommodate the spacing of your crossbars. And because they mount in those channels there won't be any interference with the top of the platform, leaving it completely free to mount your accessories.
This is true for each of the sizes of the Caprock platform for crossbars, which I'll list... view full answer...
The Redarc Encapsulated Power Diode # RED34FR shouldn't be needed for installing the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR and Pigtail # RED69FR on your 2020 Subaru Forester.
The answer page you're referring to didn't have us telling someone to install it, rather that person asked how it installs and our expert gave them insight on how to install it. Aside from that we haven't recommended the Power Diode for any other Subaru vehicles. view full answer...
It is possible to use the trailer wiring harness, # 118467, to wire a back-up camera to your 2011 Subaru Forester. However, there could be issue in how the camera will operate and to the vehicle's wiring.
You will have to find a 12-volt power source to operate the camera. The only way to get a non-pulsing 12-volt signal will be to wire into the tail light circuit of the harness. Using the turn or stop light circuit would cause the camera to turn on and off rapidly. To operate the camera... view full answer...
The bike cradles on the Yakima RidgeBack 4 Bike Rack # Y02458 are held in place by a bottom set screw. So, while the cradles can be angled about 20 degrees (to adjust their angle and better conform to your bike) or removed (to allow them to be replaced if they should ever wear out), they cannot be adjusted front to back. The spacing between the cradles is set at 5.5" center to center.
Yakima does offer a bike rack with cradles that are specifically designed so they can easily be adjusted,... view full answer...
The Subaru Outback connection point is located by removing a 3 inch x 3 inch interior access panel behind the driver side tail lamp housing. view full answer...
Thanks, I'm glad you like our videos. Our video team works really hard on them.
We do have a video of the Draw-Tite hitch # 76271 being installed on a 2019 Subaru Forester. I've linked it to this page for you. I've also linked the install details for you to take a look over. view full answer...
To install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite brake controller, part # RED44FR, in your 2019 Subaru Ascent you need to find the white connector with the standard red, white, blue, black wires coming out of it behind a kick panel to the left of the driver. The picture I attached shows the location.
Use part # 3062-P to plug into that white connector to install and use the Redarc controller. view full answer...
I have attached a photo for you that shows how to stop the brackets from sliding within the channel on a Thule Cascade XT Cargo Box. As you can see, there is a lever on the actual bracket which will stop it from sliding within the track once you line up the u-bolts. If the brackets do not stop sliding then they will need to be replaced for which we have the Replacement EasySnap Mounting Kit part # TH05820.
We also have the Replacement Plastic Strip For Thule Cargo Boxes part # TH05308... view full answer...
Yes, you can leave the Thule Pulse Medium Rooftop Cargo Box # TH614 on your Subaru full time. Realistically, the only time you'd need to take it off is when you go through a car wash. Thule recommends not to leave the box out for long periods of time because of exposure to the elements, but as long as you take care of it you'll be fine. view full answer...
The reason why there is a slight slope on the rack is because it helps a bit with ground clearance with the weight of the bikes on the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G. With the angle, it helps prevent drag in the back. I went ahead and attached some photos that show the angle. view full answer...
You can absolutely store the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11143865 in the hatch of your 2013 Subaru Outback when you aren't using it instead of routing it outside the vehicle. The connector end will be long enough to hang outside your hatch when you need to connect it to your trailer.
I have added a link to the instructions and a video install for you to check out as well of the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness # HM11143865.

The Thule Mountaineer uses narrower U-bolts so for a roof rack that's compatible with that box and the roof of your 2019 Subaru Ascent with factory roof rails the Thule Square Bar Roof Rack part numbers # TH712400 and # TH450R would be what you'd need! view full answer...
I am not sure why the Impreza in the video has a large cut out in the bumper. It was a customer vehicle and they may have had something else installed there at some point. Trimming is not required for installation of hitch # C11286. I have included a link to the instructions so you can see for yourself that trimming the bumper is not needed to install the hitch.
For trailer wiring use # 118573 for a non-WRX/STi wagon. I have linked instructions for the wiring as well. The hitch comes... view full answer...
You could do that if you wish, you'll just want to make sure that the heat shield is NOT sandwiched between the hitch and the chassis of the vehicle at any point.
We frequently hear from folks with concerns about the vehicle being harmed because the heat shields were removed, but once the heat shields are removed, the hitch itself performs that function. The hitch is much thicker and heavier than the flimsy heat shields, so it provides better protection.
You're more than welcome to trim... view full answer...
The easiest hitch to install on a 2024 Subaru Outback is going to the Draw-Tite Class 3 Hitch # DT73RR. It will be a no-drill install. You will need to temporarily lower the exhaust, and trim a small portion of the heat shield. The other hitches we offer for your vehicle require full removal of the rear bumper, whereas the Draw-Tite hitch does not. This will make for a much easier, faster install.
I have linked our install video below if you want to take a look. view full answer...
Installation of the etrailer # e25TR will require bumper/fascia removal on your 2024 Subaru Outback. The hitch bolts on behind the rear bumper beam. view full answer...
According to the 2021 Subaru Outback owner's manual tire chains should only be used on the front wheels so you need a single pair. It also states you can only install class S chains like the # TC1146 you were looking at. view full answer...
The link you provided only redirects but it looks like you have the 225/60-17 tires on your 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. All of the available chains have a max speed of 30 mph which is the standard.
I recommend getting square link chains so either the Konig # TH01221104 with assisted tensioning or if you're willing to spend a bit more the # TH2004205104 which is self-tensioning. According to what I saw in the owner's manual the chains should only be installed on the front. I recommend double... view full answer...
