Hey Paul, thanks for reaching out. That is a tough question to answer because this isn't something we would ever really test to find out. The hitch for the 2024 Volvo V60, the Stealth Hitch # SH47FR is specified by the manufacturer to only fit the 2019-2025 models of the V60. So those are the only vehicles we have ever attempted to install.

There most likely is something in the way that prevents the installation of a trailer hitch on the S models and manufacturers haven't found a workaround yet. That pretty much leaves you with only weld-on adjustable-fit trailer hitches, which would require a bit of DIY to fit. You'll need to measure down from the frame rails to the see how large of the drop you'll need for the receiver tube to stick out from the rear fascia. We offer the following drop sizes:

Hi Dan; it looks like the 2024 Volvo V60 Polestar Engineered T8 is the same as the Recharge. I'm not sure where you heard that about a hitch so I would double check that information. Typically when we get a question like this the owner's manual for the vehicle says something like "do not use this vehicle for towing." Hey there Rick, there is a way to use your 1-1/4" Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH12G with the 2" receiver that comes with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH47FR.
What you would need to do is simply use an adapter, the Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" # HT02.

Lawrence, for what is offered for your 2003 Volvo S60 (V60 doesn't exist from what I can find) you are not going to be able to tow a 4,000 lb trailer without a weight distribution system, but all of the hitches do not allow for a WDS.
You can tow up to a 3,500 lb trailer however, and to do so will need the trailer hitch # C12318, wiring harnesses # C59236 & # ETBC7, and a brake controller # 90195.

Curt offers a Class II hitch part # C12066 and a Class III # 13266 for your 2018 Volvo V60. The big advantage the Class III (2 inch opening) has over the Class II is that more accessories are made for 2 inch hitches so you'll have an easier time fitting racks to the hitch. The advantage a Class II would have is really that the due to the smaller size it might be less visible. You could use an adapter like the Roadmaster # RM-070 to achieve a 4 inch rise, which would work pretty well for you. Keep in mind that using an extender/adapter like this will lower the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50% due to the fact that the adapter would move the load further away from the vehicle and exert additional leverage on the hitch and its attachment points to the vehicle. view full answer...
