Factory brake controllers seem to unfortunately be very temperamental and usually quite a bit more expensive that an aftermarket brake controller so I have to recommend going with an aftermarket option. From what I could find it looks like the rear window on your Leer 100XR topper won't rotate more than a 90 degree angle with the ground.
