It sounds like you are trying to pair the Curt Echo part # C51180 to the Bluetooth on your phone which is why the app is not recognizing it. You want to go into your settings on your phone and make sure you disconnect the Bluetooth from the Curt Echo device. Then go to the Curt app and pair the brake controller. If you do not disconnect the Bluetooth from the Echo in your settings it will not allow you to pair on the app. You want to connect through the app not your phone settings. view full answer...

According to the research I conducted, there were 4 different models of the 2003 GMC Envoy with 4-wheel drive. Both the SLE and SLT have a towing capacity of 5,200 pounds, 6,200 with weight distribution.
The XL SLE and XL SLT models have a towing capacity of 4,800 pounds, 7,000 pounds when using weight distribution. All of the models seem to be rather capable vehicles. You should also be able to find the towing capacities of your specific vehicle in the owners manual.

If your spare tire is under 45-lbs, then you can use the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FHDSTC0101 but a better solution if you've got a trailer frame that is 4" x 4" would be the Ultra-Fab Folding Spare Tire Carrier for Trailers and RVs - Bumper Mount # UF15-954730. You can still use a Blue Ox base plate like the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1709 you're looking at. You're just going to need to also use an adapter like # RM-031 or # RM-031-5.
The adapter you need will be dependent on the Roadmaster tow bar you have. So if you have the Blackhawk, Falcon, or Sterling tow bars, you'd need # RM-031, but if you had the Nighthawk, Sterling, or Blackhawk 2 All-Terrain you'd need # RM-031-5.

The shank of accessories such as Curt ball mount # C45001 have to be a little smaller than the receiver opening so they are easy to install and remove. This can cause the fit to be a little looser than some people like. It actually spawned several products to reduce or eliminate movement of accessories in hitches: anti-rattle devices.
