The crazy rough bouncing of the rear suspension is due to the very high spring rate of the rear suspension. The very high towing capacity of your early model F550 is kind of a double edged sword in that you have the ability to tow way more weight than almost any other vehicle on the road, but the suspension is so stiff that when you hit a bump you really feel it.
The rear suspension of your truck was not designed for comfort, it was only designed for carrying a lot of weight. When your... view full answer...
Hey Tim, the mounting holes on the top bracket of the CIPA Door Mirror part # CM45000-2 that you referenced are separated by 3-13/16 inches on center. This probably could still work for you but you'd need to create new mounting holes on your truck. view full answer...
I just checked with Tekonsha and they confirmed that the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3034-P that you referenced will work on your E-450 motorhome.
If you are also looking for a brake controller check out our Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller # 90885. This is one of our best selling controllers because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
I attached a picture that shows where to locate the port. view full answer...
According to my Curt representative, the drop of the # C15845 hitch is right at 6 inches between the top of the receiver tube and the bottom of the truck frame. We do indeed have a reducer sleeve available, part # C45405.
For more drop, a weld-on hitch like # 41990-16 might be your best bet. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver tube, but offers an impressive 16,000 lb towing/1600 lb tongue weight capacity. The distance from the top of the mounting bracket to the top of the receiver tube would... view full answer...
Hitch pins don't have weight capacities because they don't actually bear any of the trailer weight.
The downward force of the tongue weight of the trailer is so great that the ball mount is pinned into the hitch so hard that none of the weight is put on the hitch pin. view full answer...
We have some multi-fit and weld-on hitches that might work for your application. I'll need to know the drop you need. Measure the distance from the underside of the frame to the lowest point of the rear bumper at the center. Curt offers 3 inches of drop with their # 13703 hitch, which fits frame members 22-72 inches apart. For a larger drop, the Draw-tite # 41990-16 would be a good choice.
If you reply with the drop you are needing, I'd be happy to recommend a hitch for you. view full answer...
On the 2014 Ford F-53 chassis the brake controller port is located on the left hand side of one of the steering column supports. The plug is gray in color, and you should be able to see it if you look to the right of the emergency brake release handle.
If you don't already have a brake controller, I can highly recommend the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195. To install the controller onto your motorhome, you would use harness # 3035-P which is compatible with Tekonsha brake controllers. view full answer...
My contact at Tekonsha didn't have any specific information about the 2014 Ford F-53 chassis. He couldn't say if it was prewired for a controller or not. If the motorhome had a 7-way trailer connector at the rear bumper, it might be prewired, but because it has a 4-pole, I'm thinking it might not be.
Your best bet would be to contact the motorhome manufacturer, who should be able to tell you if there's a brake controller installation plug under the dash.
If there is no plug under the... view full answer...

I spoke with my Firestone representative regarding an air bag kit for your 2011 F350 Utility Body. I was told that because most of those cab and chassis models had the fuel lines running along the frame right where the spring brackets would need to attach, they do not offer a specific air bag kit for that vehicle.
I was told that if the fuel lines do NOT interfere, the # F2176 kit could be used. My representative recommends that you examine the diagram shown in the installation instructions... view full answer...
If your 2014 Fleetwood Storm is built on a 2013 or 2014 Ford F-53 chassis then you would need brake controller wiring harness # 3035-P according to my technical contact over at Tekonsha. I have linked a video review of this wiring harness for you. view full answer...
We may have a trailer hitch that will work with your 2003 Coachmen Mirada, however the Curt Custom Fit Class V Trailer Hitch, # C14048, that you referenced will not fit Class A motor homes. Before installing a Class V trailer hitch on your Mirada, I recommend checking your owners manual or with an RV dealer to determine the towing capacity of your motor home. Most motor homes do not have high towing capacities, so a Class V hitch may be overkill.
Our Class V trailer hitches are universal... view full answer...
You can definitely send in a picture for me to verify a tow mirror fit for your 2003 Ford E-350.
If you have manual mirrors then you should be able to use the K-Source part # KS61202F for the driver side and part # KS61201F for the passenger side.
If you have electric mirrors then you should be able to use the K-Source part # KS61200F for the driver side and part # KS61199F for the passenger side. The power function will allow you to retain the ability to change the mirror face position... view full answer...
I do not have a confirmed fit for your 1992 Ford F450 with the Eagle Lift liftgate, but I spoke to my contact at Draw Tite and he informed me of a way for you to determine by taking a few measurements on your vehicle.
He said that from the rear most mounting hole to the end of the receiver tube is 10-7/8 inches. So if you can find that hole and then measure out 10-7/8 inches and that distance is not too far for your lift gate to still work you should be good.
My contact did say that most... view full answer...
I spoke with my technical contact at Firestone and he advised me that, tentatively, the correct suspension kit that will fit your 2011 F-350 Dually Cab and Chassis is the Firestone Ride-Rite Spring # F2176. The Firestone Spring # F2404 will not fit your F-350 truck - it only fits F-550 trucks.
The two issues that determine if # F2176 will fit are: first, you need to have 7-1/2 inches between the tire and the frame of your truck, and secondly, this set mounts on the outside frame of the... view full answer...
Most 7K axles are going to use 12 inch by 2 inch brakes. To determine if these are the right size you can measure the internal diameter of the drum and the width where the pads would make contact with the drum.
I am confident that it will turn out to be 12 x 2 inches. For Dexter Nev-R-Adjust electric trailer brakes for 7K axles use # 23-465 for the right hand side and # 23-464 for the left hand side. These brake assemblies mount on a 5-bolt mounting flange.
Even though these are Nev-R-Adjust... view full answer...
Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 41947 is a custom fit hitch designed for specific vehicles and should not be used on any applications it was not designed for. The trucks it does fit on would have approximately 37 inch frames measured from outside to outside.
We do have hitches that are meant for motor homes though. I have included a link to them for you. All of these hitches list the frame widths they will fit and the warranties will not be voided because they are made for your application. view full answer...
The Firestone kit you referenced, part # F2176, is designed for trucks but will not fit your 2000 Ford 450 van cab and chassis motor home. The appropriate kit for your E-450 van is Firestone # F2377.
The shortest spacers offered for use with this kit are the 1-1/4 inch # F2536. In order to use these you need to have between 6-1/2- and 7-1/2-inches space between the upper and lower brackets. This spacer should not be needed unless your truck has a 1-1/2-inch suspension lift.
The air bag... view full answer...
I am going to need a bit more information in order to make a good recommendation. Is your 2010 Ford E450 a Cab and Chassis style or an RV cut-away. I spoke with my contact at Cequent, and they said that what you would have to do to determine if a hitch would fit is to measure the frame. If you have a 34 inch wide frame then I recommend a hitch like the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 41947. This hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening and has a gross trailer weight capacity of 15,000 lbs. This... view full answer...
