Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at a ProGrip standard trailer winch. It's a bolt-on style with a 0.9-inch drive hole rated at 12,000 pounds of brake strength. So folks, if you've ever used these, you already know how they work. You need a bar, sold separately, that you probably already have to tighten and loosen these, and you have a slot through here all the way through, up to a four-inch strap is what it's gonna fit. Now, as I mentioned, this is rated for 12k, so obviously, you wanna try to get a strap rated for the same capacity or smaller.

You can go bigger, but just note that 12k is the max for this. So again, strong steel, obviously, when it's engaged and working, it's gonna be ratcheting, and then whenever it locks in place, it's gonna hold tight until you loosen it, at which point it's gonna then free spool. Now, this, again, is a bolt-on style. It would go up over the edge, and then you would use the two included bolts here to then tighten it down and hold it in place. It's got a nice powder coat finish.

So you don't have to worry about rust, corrosion, those kind of things, and, again, this works with your standard winch bars, but, again, these holes are 0.9 inch. That's gonna wrap up our quick look together. folks. I'm Steven. Stay safe while you're towing.
