Wiring a trailer doesn’t have to mean tapping into factory wires. This Curt T-Connector plugs directly into existing vehicle wiring to create a 4-pole flat trailer connector. It’s plug-and-play, so there’s no splicing or guessing which wire does what—everything clicks into place for a clean, factory-style setup.

Modern vehicles use thin, sensitive wiring that can’t handle the extra draw from trailer lights. The powered converter on this harness takes care of that by pulling power straight from the battery through a dedicated wire and inline fuse. That setup protects your vehicle’s electrical system and ensures reliable trailer lighting without overload risk.
The Curt harness is built to handle real-world towing demands. It manages up to 3 amps per circuit for brake and turn signals, and 6 amps for tail lights. Those ratings mean it can run typical trailer lighting without shorting out or dimming when everything’s powered on.
When it’s time to run the power wire to the battery, you’ve got choices. You can route it along the frame for a quick setup, through the frame for extra protection, or even inside the cabin for maximum shielding. Each path works—it just depends how you want to balance speed and protection during install.

FAST GREAT SERVICE. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This wiring harness that is almost a plug-n-play unit. I only needed to run a hot wire from the battery to the trunk. Total instal time was about 30 minutes.
Product was as advertised. Very easy to use and worked like a champ. Shipped on time no waiting and wondering.
As with other Curt products it was easy to install and it worked as advertised
It is working very well, thank you.
Was precisely what I needed and delivery was prompt. Couldn't have asked for better.
We installed the wiring as suggested and everything works very well. Thank you.
The wiring kit was complete and easy to install. My only concern was removing the tail light lens because I didn't know if I should pull straight out or to the side.
lead on right taillight harness 5oo short,by 18"
4 bolts for hitch too short by 1/2" had to purchase new grade 8 bolts.
Pretty easy to install. Nice looking. My son did all the work. The wiring needed 12v install which was not easy to find in the trunk so we installed it on the fuse box and ran the line on the floor boards. But it does say to install it to the battery. Oh well. Nice product.
The harness was installed on a 2011 Nissan Altima. The online video was especially helpful and gave me an idea of what to expect during the installation. All connectors fit perfectly.
I purchased the wrong wiring set initially. Amy with etrailer was very helpful with my return and helped me order the correct set. The set arrived as intended and I was able to install the wiring without much effort. The enclosed directions were clear and made installation easy and uneventful!
I like that etrailer had a selection of kits for me to choose from. Product came as described, instructions were complete, durability seems fine. Phone contact with customer service was very positive, like walking into an auto parts store with friendly and helpful Parts staff. I refer people to etrailer when and where I can with no hesitation.
This wiring kit was a pain to install. I have installed one other Curt wiring kit, on a different car, that was done totally inside the trunk. Just plug & play. Why a wire has to be run thru the trunk floor, outside the car & all the way up to the battery is beyond me. Running that wire, sealing the exit point from the trunk, zip tying it in place & making sure it would be protected & not near hot or moving surfaces was a total pain. I was crawling around under the car for 3 hours! First I had the car on rear ramps then jacked up from the front. Does it work? Sure it does, but I know from experience that a properly designed kit it MUCH EASIER!!!!
Connection between trailer and car is poor. When I wiggle the connector, lights work intermittently, have to wiggle just right in order for lights to stay on. Looks like I will have to be replacing the two connectors this spring. For the price, this should work flawlessly.

Have you tried hooking up a different trailer to see if the same thing happens? Its unusual for this to happen with a newer harness unless the connection has been unplugged by grasping the wires instead of the plug itself.
Easy install! Installation video helped tremendously also. Etrailer makes it easy to order through the website and instructional videos to get you to complete the job.

The reason a power wire is necessary is typically do the factory tail light circuits. Many cars no longer have the amperage capacity on tail light circuits to support both the vehicle and trailer lights, so a separate power feed is needed, like the Nissans in this case. Some vehicles offer tow package ports in the trunk or cargo area that provide a single port that makes setting up for towing easier. Nissan cars were not built with towing as a prominent concern, so the electrical followed suit.
