A heavy snowplow or front-mounted gear can make the front end dip and throw off your steering and braking. The Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 6,000 lbs of extra support so your vehicle stays level under load. The hollow rubber springs work with your factory suspension to keep handling steady and headlights aimed right, even when that front-end weight starts pushing down.

Every bump in the road doesn’t have to rattle your teeth. These hollow rubber springs take the edge off potholes and washboard roads by absorbing road shock before it hits the cab. The elastic rubber design cushions light loads for a smoother ride and helps prevent bottoming out when things get rough. It’s a simple way to keep the ride comfortable while protecting your suspension from hard impacts.

When curves or uneven terrain shift the weight around, each spring reacts on its own to keep both sides balanced. This independent action cuts down on body roll and sway so your vehicle feels stable through corners and highway crosswinds. Off-center loads are handled easily too, keeping you in control when one side carries more than the other.

No need for air lines, compressors, or pressure gauges—just solid hardware that bolts right in. The kit includes 2 Aeon hollow rubber springs with vehicle-specific brackets and hardware, replacing the axle bump stops on the frame with no drilling required. Once installed, the system is always ready to work automatically with your suspension, giving you consistent support whenever you hook up heavy equipment or hit rough roads.

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System. This is going to be an upgraded bump stop for the front end of your vehicle, whether it be a car like the 4Runner here or a motor home. These are gonna come in a variety of different kits and fits with different capacities and help stabilize the front end of your vehicle. Let's check it out.
So why would you be looking for something on the front end of the suspension enhancement side A lot of people are pretty familiar with airbags on the rear axle, and a lot of those suspension enhancement components are used in towing applications or maybe truck beds where you've got really heavy loads in the bed and you need extra support at the back of the vehicle. Now what the front end can do is stabilize that front end, if you do have something like a front mounted hitch, maybe a plow on a truck, or on a larger vehicle or even a smaller vehicle like this, it does help stabilize body roll a lot because these are going to be a lot beefier than the factory suspension and the factory bump stops, that is, and help limit that side to side movement as we're taking turns or driving down in like really windy conditions on the highway. So this will give a significant upgrade for those applications. As far as the construction for these goes it's going to be a hollow Aeon rubber material with a progressive spring rate. Now, what the progressive spring rate means is the more this compresses, the more pressure it has, the more it's going to work at returning the vehicle to its natural position.
So it's just going to resist more and more as it gets further compressed. As for the installation process, this particular one that I've been holding is for the 4Runner, and this one is a very basic kit. It really just has a threaded end with a bolt and a plate on the inside, but this just spreads into a factory weld done on the 4Runner. Very straightforward install. But for all the other different fits and kits, those are gonna have custom brackets and their own hardware that come with it.
So no matter what one you end up going with, if it's a fit for your vehicle, it's going to be custom fit. So the installation should be just a straightforward bolt on process. Now obviously that can vary depending on the kit and what vehicle you're putting it on, especially on the motor home side of things. But for the most part, you should be able to have a very straightforward install process with any of these kits you pick out. And to make sure you find the right kit for you, be sure to enter your vehicle information into our fit guide and use that to narrow down for the custom fit options available for your vehicle.
If you're considering some front suspension enhancement, I do think that these bump stops from Timbren are a really solid option. From the testing we did in installation on our 4Runner, they performed great. They reduced a ton of the body roll and really helped when we're going over speed bumps and just aggressive driving conditions where we need that extra support. Whether you've got a truck with a plow on it, or a motor home that you're trying to reduce body roll on, something like this can be be a huge help and it's a very straightforward solution. But that'll do it for a look at the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System Bump Stops. Thanks for watching.

I hear you, and that makes sense based on what you’re describing. If the Timbrens are in constant contact, they’re basically always engaged, which is why the front end feels so stiff instead of only firming up under load. You might actually be a really good candidate for SumoSprings part # SSF-281-47 (as long as your truck is a 2WD) They’re a similar concept but made from a softer, more progressive material, so they compress more gradually instead of feeling like a hard stop. That usually gives you support when you need it without taking away all the ride comfort like you’re experiencing now. Glad to hear the install went smoothly and the quality was there, that’s pretty typical with Timbren, it just comes down to how they behave on your specific setup. What were you mainly trying to improve up front, sag, handling, or just a smoother ride overall?

The timbren springs are working out better than expected. I installled new Monroe matic RV shocks front and rear on my 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 just prior to putting the timbrens on the front and the sumo springs on the rear and the ride is great especially with a load or hauling my travel trailer and the ride is just as smooth empty. I highly recommend the timbren and sumo springs because they fit by application and there is nothing additional to buy. Thanks etrailer.

I have upgraded towards trailing with my truck camper Artic Fox 990. I have not had the time to reach to etrailer for a solution with my 1998 Dodge 2500 timbrens installation. I have a new addition and will install the timbrens on a F-550 to have the same travel assurance...Pre trip test run to Key West early this winter... Anchorage 2024 Spring...Thank you etrailer

Still going strong. The ride is a little bumpy but when I tow the truck doesn’t feel “squishy” whenever I make my turns. I’m still super happy about the product.

Great product. Very solid and holding up well in my motorhome. My friend has sumo springs and they have a softer ride, but they had to be replaced after a few years, due to his weight distribution. Mt Timbrens seem much stronger. A little bit firmer ride, but the shocks balance that out. I would buy them again.
