Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 1,500-lb Rear Suspension Support

Heavy loads can make the rear of your truck sag and throw off steering and braking. These SumoSprings Solo helper springs add up to 1,500 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to keep your ride level and steady. They help your factory suspension bear the weight so the front tires stay planted on the road, steering feels more controlled, and braking stays predictable when you’re towing or hauling.

Smooth Ride on Every Trip: Progressive Load Control

You don’t have to choose between comfort and control. With progressive load control, these springs compress easily for light loads to soften bumps and vibrations, then stiffen as weight increases for solid support when loaded down. The result is a smooth, stable ride whether you’re running empty or carrying serious cargo.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

Each spring works on its own to balance the load side to side. That means less body roll through curves, better handling in crosswinds, and steadier control when loads aren’t perfectly centered. Off-center cargo no longer tips the truck to one side—the springs take care of it automatically.

Built Tough for Real Conditions: Maintenance-Free Urethane Design

Made from microcellular urethane, these springs handle temperatures from -25°F to 200°F and resist damage from oils, road salts, and UV rays. They compress vertically with minimal side expansion so nearby components stay safe even in tight spots. With no air lines or pressure to manage, they’re completely maintenance-free—just install them once and they’re ready for work every day.

DIY-Friendly Setup: Simple No-Drill Installation

Adding rear suspension support doesn’t have to be complicated. These SumoSprings bolt in place with a straightforward, no-drill install using basic tools. Two jounce-style springs come in the kit, so you can get your truck leveled up and back on the road without extra parts or setup fuss.

I still have alot of sag when towing. The ride is fine but doesn't really help with sag as much as the Tembren but ride better than the Tembren

by:

Great people great company. Very friendly and professional

by:

They were very easy to install. Less than 15 minutes. Good fit

by:

They didn’t help with the squat when I hooked the camper as much as I had hoped for. I had hoped for a couple inches, I got about 1”. It does help with bounce when going over dips and bumps, making the bounce stop quickly.

by:

They helped like they should with a loaded trailer. They do make the ride a little stiffer unloaded. They are so easy to install I may switch them out to the factory bump stops when not towing.

I installed these on a 2026 Ram 1500. I had the Timbrens on my 09 GMC Sierra 1500 and they definitely made the truck feel like you were driving a 3500. These Sumo Springs still give a change to the ride quality over the OEM feel but no where close to what the Timbrens were like. They only sit a 1/2" off the axle so you feel them engage but again nothing huge. The thing that is nice with these is you can remove them and install the OEM bump stops in less then 5 mins. Same with installing them. So my plan is to keep swapping them out as needed. You will need to jack the truck up slightly to get them in and out. No tools requires beyond the jack. Would definitely recommend if you tow occasionally. For reference my trailer is a 16ft enclosed and with a 750lb tounge weight I dropped 2 3/4" stock. With the Sumo Springs I only dropped 1 1/2". The control with them in is what I enjoy the most. Nothing like that feeling of hitting that huge dip on the highway and wondering if your going to bottom out. With the Sumo Springs is solid and no bounce.

Etrailer was awesome on helping me choose the correct Sumo Springs for my truck for what I was pulling!!!

by:

Ease of installation. Once they were assembled, 5 minutes oe bump stop removed and new sumo springs installed. I will follow up when I tow my travel trailer.

by:

They seem to do just what they were intended to do.

by:

Item as described and fast shipping! Very happy.

by:

Works great. Easy to install. Another great product from etrailer!

by:

I am very happy with these overall. They were easy to install and work as advertised. Much bigger and more robust than the factory bumpstops. I ordered them for my '21 Ford Ranger to alleviate the sag from towing my camper. They work well, but if you put on enough weight that they contact the axle constantly, it makes for a jouncy ride. I also added a set of helper springs and together they work very well.

by:

Sumo springs are good and better than helper springs. I made a mistake in ordering the type of load rating I purchased medium springs ride is stiff without load, I should’ve purchased the light springs. Overall these are excellent.

Sorry to say but I took it off, the ride without a load is very harsh, I should’ve purchased the softer springs.

by:

Keeps my truck from sagging and stabilizes my ride in a very cost effective way. Super easy to install as well

  • Parts Needed To Tow A 3,300lb Trailer With A 2024 Ford Ranger
Hey John, The common consensus on capacity is that you should really only use 80-85% to give yourself a margin or error. At 3,300lbs you'd be at roughly 94% capacity so you still technically could but it's likely going to sag the rear suspension and be tough to pull. Even though Rangers are pretty well known for being overloaded and powering through I'd recommend adding in a bit of suspension enhancement or using a weight distribution hitch to help control the trailer and keep it tracking...

  • Will Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Fit a 2023 Ford Ranger with Tremor Package
I checked with Timbren, the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TFRRGR is a confirmed fit for a 2023 Ford Ranger with Tremor Package. These feature a simple bolt-on install without any drilling required. They will do a great job of helping provide rear end support while towing or hauling. I will say however they can ride a bit rough so if ride quality is important I might go with a similar option in the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SS86MR which although don't...

  • 2021 Ford Ranger SumoSpring Recommendation for Towing a Trailer with Weight Distribution
Since the only difference between the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SS76MR and # SS86MR is the weight rating (the former being 1,000 lbs and the latter being 1,500 lbs) I recommend going with the lighter option - part # SS76MR. It would be good to double check the weight rating for your weight distribution system (WDS) prior to swapping out your suspension enhancement. The Timbrens have been known to make the ride a bit more stiff but if your WDS is rated too high then that's...

  • Which Capacity SumoSprings for a 2021 Ford Ranger?
I recommend the black 1,500 lbs capacity SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SS86MR for your 2021 Ford Ranger. The higher capacity will definitely address any squatting issues you are encountering. It sounds like you're pulling a decent size trailer so you will want the additional 500 lbs capacity of the black springs.

  • Suspension Enhancement for 2020 Ford Ranger with Camper in Bed
To reduce the suspension sag of your 2020 Ford Ranger when you are carrying your slide in camper a really great option is the SumoSprings part # SS86MR which will give you the support without negatively affecting your ride quality like other options or requiring maintaining air pressure like the air bag kits. You should note that this doesn't give you more weight capacity but will support the suspension better.

  • Recommended SumoSprings for a 2021 Ford Ranger
Yes, they will. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SS86MR have a 1,500 lbs load leveling capacity that will keep the rear end of your Ranger from sagging when it's weighted down by your trailer. They will not affect your ride when you're not towing and that's SumoSprings' best feature. They work off of a system called progressively load control. The more weight you put on the rear end of your Ranger the more they engage to keep the rear end from sagging. If there's no weight...

  • Is Part SS86MR The Same as SSR-141-47 For SumoSprings on 2019 Ford Ranger
The two parts you mentioned are indeed the same; the SSR-141-47 is the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SS86MR. The # SS86MR is just the part number we use for these SumoSprings on our site, but they are the 1,500 lb capacity SuomSprings that fit your 2019 Ford Ranger. We do have the 1,000 lb capacity SumoSprings that fit your '19 Ranger as well, which are the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SS76MR. I have added links below to video reviews and...

  • Is There a Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for a 2019 Ford Ranger
I have a solution for you to add some suspension help on the rear end of your 2019 Ford Ranger, but Roadmaster does not make a rear anti-sway bar for that particular vehicle. Typically the Roadmaster suspension enhancement parts are only available for Class A or Class C RV or heavy vehicle chassis'. However, a really easy to install and helpful suspension enhancement for your Ranger that I recommend is the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SS86MR. These helper springs...
