Demanding trailer, camper, or payload weight can leave your truck squatting and less controlled. These air springs add up to 7,500 lbs of leveling support to reduce sag, sway, and bottoming, while internal jounces let you run 0 psi unloaded.
Your truck can feel composed empty, then change quickly once substantial pin weight, a slide-in camper, or a heavy work payload settles onto the rear suspension. The two adjustable rear air springs provide up to 7,500 lbs of load-leveling support to help bring a sagging rear back toward normal ride height while reducing sway and bottoming under load. Instead of treating that capacity as a target, you can tune the air pressure to the weight your truck is actually carrying.
A truck built for serious towing or hauling may still spend plenty of miles without that weight on the rear suspension. Internal jounce bumpers let you increase air pressure when a substantial load calls for more support, then reduce the air springs to 0 psi when the extra weight comes off. Those internal jounces protect the air springs against bottoming when suspension travel is used up, so you don't have to maintain air pressure simply to protect the bags during unloaded driving. The result is adjustable support that can work around both sides of your truck's job instead of treating every mile like a loaded one.
Suspension hardware lives where road spray, dirt, and weather reach it, so material choices matter underneath your truck. This kit uses braided stainless steel air lines along with stainless steel fittings, Schrader valves, roll plates, and mounting hardware to add corrosion resistance throughout key parts of the system. That extra durability is focused where it matters, helping the hardware you rely on for load support and pressure adjustment stand up to the environment beneath a working truck.
You'll start by measuring your truck's stock ride height and checking tire-to-frame clearance before removing the factory jounce bumpers, with rear-wheel removal optional if you want more working room. The air spring assemblies mount between the frame and axle using upper support brackets secured through existing frame holes and lower hardware that wraps around the leaf springs and axle, with the axle vent line temporarily moved and carefully cleared as everything is positioned. Once the springs are aligned and torqued, you'll reattach the axle vent line, install the passenger-side exhaust heat shield, then route the braided stainless steel air lines with enough clearance and slack for suspension movement before mounting the Schrader valves where they're easy to reach. Adding air bags is a job experienced DIYers can handle, but if you would rather leave it to a professional, we can help you find an installer near you.
The included Schrader valves give you everything you need to adjust the air springs manually, but pulling out an external compressor can get old when your truck regularly switches between demanding loads and unloaded driving. You can add a Pacbrake Bravo Wireless Air Control Kit with XD Compressor (sold separately) to adjust pressure from your phone, check live pressure, and save presets for loads you come back to regularly. Also, you'll be able to choose between filling both air springs together or controlling them independently when the load isn't even side to side. It's an optional upgrade, but one that makes the adjustable part of an air-spring system much easier to use regularly. And it's not the only solution available. There are a variety of compressor options from Pacbrake that might be the perfect fit for your setup.

Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Pacbrake Alpha XD Pro Airbag Suspension Kit with included internal jounces and stainless steel upgraded hardware and stainless steel braided lines. Folks, this is a custom fit application. Make sure you're checking the fit guide over at etrailer.com. Looks like this fits the 19 through current Ram 2500, but always double check that to be sure you're getting the right parts the first time.
Now, we talked about that internal jounce. Here's a cutaway image of an airbag that includes those. So you can kinda see that yellow internal flexible polyurethane bumper. That means that this air spring can operate at zero PSI when unloaded, it's gonna maintain the factory ride quality. Now as you can see, I just have these bags kinda loosely fitted together here on the table.
Double check the orientation before you install those kind of things. Make sure that you're doing everything correctly. Don't just go buy what I have here on the table in case I messed up. Here is an image of the, excuse me, the packaging that you're gonna get as far as what's included in the packaging, rather. And you're also probably gonna get a couple doubles of these that are not stainless.
So whenever they package up the stainless, we found a lot of these come with both sets of hardware. So just be aware of that and make sure you're using the correct hardware. The stainless one, obviously. And same thing with these plates here. Make sure you're using the stainless steel plates and obviously you got the stainless steel braided lines.
Airbags, as you know, are going to help get rid of squatting, body roll, rear end sag, help reduce bottoming out while you're towing. Again, everything here just kind of loosely fit together. It's not on the frame, obviously. And again, that internal jounce is gonna be great whenever you're empty and when you're full at giving you some extra support as well. So we know that whenever we load up, sometimes we squat in the rear end, it pushes our headlights up, it loses traction in the front end. Airbags are one system that's really, really great in my opinion, at getting everything back up to level, pushing you back up where you need to be, and helping to evenly distribute that weight back onto all the axles and give you that traction back headlights pointed back in the correct way, and again, giving you that smooth ride that you're looking for. Now this kit, again, is just the, what I call manual inflation kit. We do offer compressors sold separately along with air tanks and those kind of things. Again, you can get all that separately. If you're looking for the whole complete package, reach out to us, we can assist you as well. Now if you don't wanna tackle the install for these, no problem, we have dealers across the country that are affiliated with us. Just simply use our dealer located tool at etrailer.com, enter your zip code, and we can help find someone in your area that can get the installation done for you. So again, folks, stainless steel upgraded. You don't have to worry about corrosion, you don't have to worry about stuff rusting out. It's a one and done kit in my opinion. This is the Pacbrake Alpha XD with included internal jounces. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
