Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Hellwig EZ-1000 Helper Springs. Now these springs have been designed to fit your 1998 to 2004 Nissan Frontier, then your 1987 to 1997 Nissan pickup. Then finally, your 1986 Nissan pickup, the D21 Hardbody. On custom fit parts such as these springs, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide, input the year, make and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm that these will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Now these springs are custom and they are, they do feature a load leveling capacity of 1000 pounds. These are going to install above your vehicle's rear factory leaf springs to reduce sway and body roll while preventing sagging when towing or hauling heavy loads, and they're going to extend the life of your factory suspension, tires and brakes. These springs will flex with your leaf springs to limit it bouncing while providing optimal stability. Now, I do have these kind of assembled loosely just to give you an idea of how the parts are going to install with the springs. So the included U-bolts can be adjusted to suit different loads.
The drivers and the passenger sides can be adjusted independently for uneven loads. And these springs are made here in the USA of durable steel construction. So that's going to ensure a long lasting performance. And they do feature a silver vein, a hammer tone powder coat finish that's going to do a great job of resisting rust and corrosion. Again, this is going to be a bolt-on installation above your factory leaf springs, and it does include the hardware here that you're gonna need to install these.
I do wanna mention that you don't want to install these with composite or plastic leaf springs vehicles that have plastic or composite leaf springs, simply because these are so robust that they could fracture those springs. So if you've got plastic or composite springs, these are not gonna be compatible with that. Again, the weight capacity is a thousand pounds. However, I do wanna make you aware of the fact that Hellwig Helper Springs do not actually increase your vehicle's weight carrying capacity, and these do have a limited lifetime warranty from Hellwig. Well, that's gonna wrap up our brief look today.
I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
Haven't installed yet. Missing hardware. It's annoying. Will edit review when installed.
Great addition to my sumo springs on a 02 Sonoma
Would give 5 stars but the hardware could have been better quality the thread on several u-bolts came cut pretty rough making starting the nuts quite difficult once on the rest was simple
