Video Transcript for All You Need to Know About the Putco PURE Replacement LED Third Brake Light

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Putco Pure replacement LED third brake light. This product fits a 2009-2014 Ford F150. It's going to feature an ion chrome coating on the interior of the lens. That creates greater reflectivity for more intensity, especially when compared to the factory installed light. The unit features a unit and stylish design. It's going to have the nice smoke tinted lens housing. Pretty quick and easy installation.

It's going to plug into the existing connectors on the vehicle. It's got a two mount hole design, so right here. It's also got the nice adhesive foam gasket, or padding that goes around to create a nice, tight seal. That also protects the insulation surface. This is SAE and department of transportation compliant.

It's an LED system, so LED's are just great replacements, especially for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter. They're much more efficient. This one's going to feature a red light that correlates with your vehicles brake lights, and then it's going to feature white lights that correspond with the cargo light, or it can be wired to correspond with the reverse lights. A few measurements to go over with you real quick, and then we'll get this hooked up to power so you can see what it looks like. At the bottom, this is going to give us a measurement of about 13 1/2 inches from edge to edge.

At the top, edge to edge, we're looking at a measurement of about 11 3/4 of an inch. The mount holes are going to be separated apart from one another center. That looks to be pretty close to, say right at 10 5/16 of an inch, right in that area. We're going to go hook it up to power. We'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low-light setting. I'm going to go ahead and show you the brake light first.

Again, this is an LED system, so when you apply your brakes, you can see that that sends out a nice consistent signal. You have the ring that goes around, and then you're also going to have that interior strip of lights. If we do that with the other connector, that's going to be the white lighting. We can go ahead and do that, so you can get a good look at that one as well. Then you can see there that it does the same thing; we have the outer ring, and then we have the interior strip. Again, the red light corresponds, or correlates with the vehicles brake lights, and then the white lights can correspond or correlate with the cargo light, or they can be wired to go with the reverse lights as well.
