Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Putco Red Blade LED tailgate light bar. This is going to provide an auxiliary stop, tail light, turn, and back up light function that you can add on to your mid-sized trucks or your Putco Boss headache rack. This is going to be 44 1/2 inches long, only about 5/8 of an inch tall, and right at 3/8 of an inch thick. So it's not gonna take up much room at all, and it is gonna provide a nice, bright light for you. It's very simple to get this installed.
They do include the automotive-grade 3M tape and clips, and everything that you're gonna need to install it, as well as instructions to walk you through that process. Our wiring has this 4-way flat plug. So it's going to plug in just like your trailer would into your vehicle's existing light wiring. So I'm gonna plug this in to my system here real fast so I can show you how those work. Now they do have this white wire, which will need to be hardwired for your reverse functionality.
Overall length from our end of our light bar here to our box, it's about eight feet. You got this plastic covering on there. And then you're going to have about 17 feet from the box back to your plug. So approximately 25 feet in total to wrap this where you need it to be. This light bar does have the COB or chip-on-board LED technology.
That's gonna create a nice, bright, solid panel of light. So if I hook up my tail light function here and my running lights, then you can see it's going to give us a nice, bright light. If I turn off the lights in the studio, you'll have a better indication there. So those LED chips are mounted close together for uniform, high-intensity light, similar to a lighting panel. We are going to have over 2000 LEDs to produce that nice, bright light.
So if I turn on my turn signal there, we'll see that on that side. Or the turn signal for the other side. Or if I want to apply my brakes. Now, I don't have a very sturdy connection here. I'm just kind of touching the wires to the live wire. So that's why you're seeing all that flickering. That's not gonna be normal once you have everything plugged in properly to your system. As long as you don't have any shorts in your system, you should get a very consistent light there. So those are our different functionalities. And then with our white wire, for our reverse light, once we get that hardwired in, that will give us that nice bright light there. So over 3000 lumens of that red or white light. That white light is a 6,000K cool white color. So this is gonna be very bright, it gives you lots of light to see as you're backing up. So you're not gonna have to worry about running into anything as you're making your way backwards. This does have a tinted polycarbonate housing that's gonna provide a nice sleek look. And the housing and lens unit are sealed, so they are gonna be waterproof. This has an IP rating of 69K. So it's going to be rated to stand up to severe environments, conditions, lots of rain, won't hurt it at all. If you're out mudding, that sort of thing. It's gonna be very easy to spray off, get clean, not gonna have to worry about water getting in there. So this is gonna add a nice bit of style and a little bit of extra clarity for those driving behind you so they can be alerted too if you're turning or driving at night, that sort of thing. So that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com, thanks for watching..
