The Angled Series is a low-profile, single-lid, crossover box developed to accommodate the storage needs of smaller import trucks with a unique shape that allows it to fit the contours of the wheel well. This multifunction utility box has a large lip that mounts on the truck bed rails, fitting snugly behind the cab. Two super-duty lift cylinders help to raise the insulated, beveled lid and hold it open at a full 90 degrees for easy access to your gear. This box also features two stainless steel paddle-lift handles in the front of the box on both sides, with a secure lock on the driver's side to protect the contents from the elements and from theft.

Today, we're going to review part number UWS00404. This is the UWS Truck Bed Toolbox. This is a crossover style and is angled, and it's a single lid series. This crossover saddle style toolbox will hang from your truck bed rails behind the cab. It's built of an aluminum construction with fully welded seams which will guarantee not to rust. The finish is a black powder coat finish which is your best base finish if you're going to paint it to match the color of your truck.
It does have two stainless steel paddle latches with a lock right here on the driver's side and includes two keys. Another nice feature is if you pull up on this, one on side it will open it up. The latches are actually connected on the inside with the connecting rod so you only need to open one latch to completely open the lid. A nice feature is on the inside where this connecting rod attaches to both latches. There is a knife connecting rod enclosure made of the same aluminum which will protect that rod from getting bent or jammed from anything you would be storing in here, and that's a nice feature because if that would bend or jammed, it would be a hard opening or closing this lid, so they do have a nice enclosure over the connecting rod on the inside.
The lid is a beveled lid and it features a patented foam filled construction which will provide insulation and protection from the elements. It is also a structural foam which will reinforce the shape and strength of the lid which is nice to allow you to open and close it with one hand. It keeps it strength. It does have a foam gasket on the length and the width of it all the way around. A nice gasket will help keep dust and any of the elements from getting to the inside of your toolbox, so it will protect the inside of it.
There are two, on each end, heavy duty gas cylinders which will help lift the lid and hold it open a full 90 degrees. When you go to lift this if you can see, it will automatically lift it for you. It makes it very easy. There's also the full length of the lid. They use a piano hinge which is nice.
It keeps the lid nice and even all the way across. It does also include a sliding tool tray, divided tool tray, and the J bolt installation hardware which is used to install this to your truck. This part is made in the USA. It does come with a one-year warranty. Now the inside, the capacity is 7.6 cubic feet of usable space. The construction of this is a 0.063 aluminum tread plate. Let me give you a few measurements on this. This is where it will sit on your bed rails so this box will actually sit 4 inches above your truck bed rails. I want to give you the length on this box, 63 inches. The width is 19-1/4 inches and the overall height is going to be 13-1/2 inches. When you close the lid, it would add about an inch to those dimensions I just gave you if you want to have clearance with the lid closed. That should do it for review on part number UWS00404.

My shipment arrived on time , but the box I ordered was damaged. When I informed customer service , they got me a replacement shipped immediately. Great service.
Securing tool box was a challenge. The included “J” hooks did not secure box to the truck. Had to purchase alternative materials to secure tool box. Would not recommend this item
